Rodrigo Alves, The "Human Ken Doll" Is OK With Not Being Able To Breathe Properly

Submitted by: fancylad 8 months ago in Lifestyle

"July of last year I had my nose reconstructed with a piece of cartilage from my ribs," says Alves in an interview with the British TV talk show This Morning, "That helped, but I still can't breathe 100 percent." That might have something to do with his eight nose jobs.

As long as he looks good, he doesn't mind the health risks or all the money (nearly $500,000) he's spent on his 50 plastic surgeries.

Whats really the saddest is he thinks and more importantly believes he looks perfect when the rest of the world look at him and say wow this poor guy is deformed. It only gets worse from here & this is scary. Not trying to be sarcastic but this is horrendous.

God, some people are so stupid. I hope that at least he is sterile, so that he can't breed and pass on his particular brand of stupid.

dromed Nope; it's not just you. I guess it's because Mr. Alves has had thick pads of silicone applied beneath the skin all over his face, thereby increasing its size. I'm pretty sure he's got padding under his chin, cheeks, and brows and, of course, has had his lips puffed up with injections of some sort.

well what would you expect in a society that cares more about the book cover than the story inside?  obviously you're going to have people with terrible stories focusing all their energy on the book cover.

monkwarrior Yeah, but when your cover looks like the Necronomicon Ex Mortis, you pretty safe at making the assumption that it's not a cookbook on 365 ways to bake cupcakes.

Whoamigod. I just don't know. I sometimes think there ought to be an international committee of doctors who recommend the prosecution of cosmetic surgeons who prey upon people who are clearly mentally ill and suffering from Body Dismorphic Disorder (aka, BDD).

On the other paw? I suppose adults have the right to screw around with their bodies however they wish.

Honestly, I'm on the fence on this one. Can anyone help me out here? I just look at this guy and wince.

squrlz4ever And on the gripping paw...he's only mentally ill if he's poor.  If he's rich he's only Eccentric.

megrendel Actually, you've hit upon something there. Any poor person who wanted such surgery would be dissuaded quickly. "It's not safe, it's not necessary, you look fine." But with the money this guy had sitting in his accounts? I'm sure there were several cosmetic surgeons who discussed these operations at length with him and suggested they were a really good idea.

squrlz4ever I agree, people like this need mental support rather than surgery. Maybe mental screening prior to surgery would catch these types of cases.

squrlz4ever Honestly, I think I'd rather someone do this than fill their face and bodies with piercings.
There's no doubt he has mental issues just like the guy Dennis Avner who is turning himself into a cat. That dude is a lot worse than this guy.

oobaka Good grief. I'd seen a photo or two of that cat guy in the past, but had forgotten about him. I see now he's deceased. Even worse? He died alone in his garage. Whoah.

squrlz4ever I didn't know he was dead and, to be honest, until I looked him up last night, I thought he was a she.
