Meet Ol Doinyo Lengai, Earth's Most Unique Active Volcano

Submitted by: normalfreak2 8 months ago in Science

Ol Doinyo Lengai, or in English,"Mountain of God," is an active volcano located in the Gregory Rift, south of Lake Natron in the Arusha Region of Tanzania and it still erupts with flowing natrocarbonatite lava. Apparently, it's a pretty unique volcano -- the only one of it's kind. It's the only place in the world where you'll find carbonatite.

The only place to find corbonatite  except for the giant lake of it found under the American  west. Vast lake of molten carbon discovered under western US | Fox News
