Trump's Ban On Refugees And Citizens Of 7 Muslim Countries Has Been Activated

Submitted by: bliznik 8 months ago in

Donald Trump's Muslim Ban went into effect immediately yesterday, preventing any refugees, or foreign citizens with student visas, worker visas, or even greencards from entering the country if they're from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

...unless you're Christian.

If you're a Syrian refugee, the choice is easy: convert to Christianity or get sent back to your country and die.

The choice is harder for men and women who were studying or working in America and went on vacation, or for those on the path to citizenship through naturalization or marriage.

How much longer are we going to "give him a chance?"

During the Original cold war people from communist country's were veted and immigration form many country's was all but banned how much did it help? We will never know. But to wait for something to happen and then close the door is irresponsible. Most of the countrys on this list are known to be hot beds and its not a ban its a suspension for 90 days to check on the vetting system and to make shore that it is sufficient for the times. Very Government has this right to check on a old administration that was know to be lax in its immigration enforcement should be checked.

I would just like to say that never, in the history of the world, has an authoritarian nationalist singling out a specific race or religion led to any problems....

holygod DO you lock your doors at night?  If so why?  Why not just let everybody in, no matter of their background, if they are criminals, or are terrorists.  In not, are you ready for people to stream into your home, watch TV next to your children, eat your food, use your car?  It's time for a pause.

trumpispresident I lock my doors from ALL people. I'm not biased or bigoted. I don't let Christians in my house, but not Muslims. I don't let people from Saudia Arabia in, but not those from Iraq. Do you get that distinction?

If he would have said moratorium on all immigration for a while, OK. I don't agree with it, but OK. Even if he would have said no immigration from countries that have had recent terrorism issues, OK again. He didn't though. He singled out 1 religion. Not only that he DIDN'T list Indonesia, Turkey, Saudia Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. Those are Muslim majority countries that have had major connections to terrorism recently. You know what they have though that the countries he listed DON'T have? Trump buildings or golf courses in development.

Liberal or Republican, Trump hater or Trump lover, that has to smell fishy to you.

lets see what the Trump did this week...
He banned refugees from Syria (on Holocaust day no less just like in 1938) Set up a system to censure all scientific research that does not agree with his political agenda, all but destroyed relations with one of the US's closest allies Mexico... And his term just started started.

The problem isn't necessarily what a religion says so much as how people define and react to it. There have been plenty of killings in this country by people who felt they were acting on behalf of Jesus. Maybe it's time to start banning Christians.

trumpispresident I understand the basis of his action - that is, taking greater care to ensure that refugees entering the USA are actually good people who are seeking a better life - although it's more to the effect of making Americans feel that they're safe than actually making them safe. The way he's going about it, though, is really fucking stupid but that's because he's an idiot. It's probably going to cause such immense anger that our people overseas will be in much greater danger of attack and the likely resultant increase in home grown Jihadists will put people here in greater danger, as well.

normalfreak2 Donald's strategy is looking out for himself -- he doesn't actually care about the people who support him. Why else would he ban some countries, but not the countries he has financial ties to?

The greatest scam donald got away with was the one he pulled on the short-sighted people like trumpismypresident who think he's going to make their lives better. They're actually going to be paying out of pocket to increase donald's personal bottom line.

fancylad That is your opinion and you are entitled to it.   Since you commented I must say....,this site is a shell of what it once was.  I used to come here to laugh at lunch time.  But the Leftist Bashers of Those that Comment have made it unbearable.  Maybe it's just time to identified as a Leftist media outlet instead of an entertainment site.

Now instead of coming to be entertained by funny videos, and unbelievable feats, I am inundated with political BS with a very light sprinkling of humor, wit, or irony, or anything vaguely interesting.

SO it is now entertaining to me to instigate the derision of the left......you know.... the love party.  Coexist and all that BS

So far on this thread I've heard "Butt Hurt","Fucking Stupid" "Idiot" and 'Short Sighted" personally from you. Oh and it's not going to end there.    So let's thank you as moderator for personally attacking me for my beliefs and not allowing my posts to appear on your feed.  Real News.  Real Info.  Yet you refuse to post views from a respectable news site that you do not agree with? You are censoring based on the beliefs of yourself and your sheep.  Go ahead.  Publish my post that I have submitted.  It's no secret from the dark web, it's regular news that informed people would want to read..  Rock on.  Very Professional.

Remember this at the top of your page?  "The best in arts & entertainment, news, pop culture, and your mom since 2002"  Maybe more like "The posts that we choose to ad to our list, as long as you adhere to the doctrine of your political beliefs".  100% censorship to steer your audience.   Then allow complete bashing of anyone that disagrees with your point of few.  The irony of the left is laughable.

Keep Calm and Chive on.

trumpispresident Was that post a joke? You honestly believe this site posts a hard leftist agenda and only posts leftist posts? You must have been gone the past 6 years while 5Cats posted hundereds of anti-obama, anti-hillary, anti-AGW, anti-gun control propoganda. It will take quite a few more anti-Trump posts before we even begin to get an even balance.

Out of curiosity who do you include as "a respectable news site"? That's a genuine question. The division in this country has been driven deeper by the fact that we can't even agree on what news is legitimate. It used to be there was news and then you could debate context. Now the internet has given crackpots and loonies the ability to stand tall and accuse everyone else of being fake news.

We used to laugh at Fox News as being extreme right fringe. With bullshit like Breitbart and Infowars, Fox News is now centrist. The problem is lots of people think Infowars is the true information and anything left of it is "lame stream media."

trumpispresident One thing this site doesn't do is censor.  We get a ton of pro trump posts, although this week in particular has been a lot of anti trump.  Regardless before you leave all I ask from anyone is to step outside your bubble.  Don't just go for the Pavlovian news source.  The Media isn't all Liberal, the media is whatever you want it to be.  We need to spend more time listening to the other side.

This just in: The leader of ISIS has fired their recruitment propaganda writer. "Why need Ali when Donald Trump is doing job so good?" Abu Bakr said and tilted his head toward the sky, offering a fiery war cry to Allah. Unfortunately for Abu, his newfound love of rice pudding has resulted in an unflattering double chin which makes his chant appear less warrior-like and more, 'bloated lizard lapping ants from sky'. In other news there is an immediate opening for second in command. Preferably someone who does not snicker uncontrollably.

holygod It's a glorious thing to watch....undoing all the wrongdoings, then letting the balance of power readjust to work as planned in the Constitution.  Many of the EOs were traditional and part of the job.  You can look it up.  "Trump signed 4 in 7 days."   Yeah there is a bad taste in the mouth of this country.  That bad taste came from the likes of people with your beliefs. Each day is like another spoonful of honey.  The best part?  The absolute best part?????    All of the MSM, and the Obamas, and the leftist progs are 100% irrelevant.  Irrelevant.  So keep whining and complaining your life away.  We don't mind.  Or you could get to work and be a contributing member of society.

holygod You forgot all the Presidential Memoranda's he is also signing. These should have been Executive Orders. With the Presidential Memoranda's added the total of executive actions is 14. To be fair Obama did this trick also. But you can't just take the total of all Obama's Presidential Memoranda's and call them Executive Actions because most were Presidential letters: Proclamations of a day, messages to the senate, and such. But the first 8 Presidential Memoranda's that President Trump signed should ALL have been executive actions.

Anyone else notice a pretty important country missing on that list?  You know the one country a majority of the 9-11 hijackers came from?  Oh one must wonder how they escaped this list?  /sarcasm.  Listen, banning citizens from these countries doesn't make us safer.  Your chance of being killed by a Muslim immigrant is 1 in 9 billion.  Yes those odds are real.  If you are in favor of these bans, why aren't you in favor of gun control?  How about slipping in tubs, cancer, killed by a grizzly  bear, etc.  These are unfounded fears on single events.  Most of our terrorism comes from homegrown terrorist.  We really need to get our perspectives on straight.  We are focusing on the WRONG remedy.

it has nothing to do with conversion, its "which country/which religion is the one that preaches and carries out death to infidels and non-believers?"  and do we want someone that pushes for that ideology in this country?  (side note, "Christian" can be faked *see Taqiyya)  so to slack on vetting is counter-productive)  Run them all through the same tests and see who's worthy of being an American.
