They Know How To Do Virtual Reality In Thailand Right

Submitted by: bliznik 10 months ago in

I don't know exactly what's going on here, but it seems like there's a VR place in Phuket, Thailand, where tourists can pay a small fee for the ultimate "VR" experience. Here's what it looked like in March, 2016.

Apparently, the VR "experience" got so popular that they were able to "upgrade" their equipment to these state of the art rigs.

Aww, they're just trying to provide the whole virtual reality experience. The Thais are awesome people. They will do anything they can to ensure guests have a good time (and I don't mean that in a sexual way--but, yes, in a few areas, that applies too). If you have a Thai guide, he will go the extra mile to ensure you're happy, not so much for the money, but out of genuine goodwill. "If you happy, I am happy. That all I care about," one guide said to me on an excursion in Phuket, and there was not one iota of sarcasm or insincerity there. What he was saying, it was perfectly clear from his eyes, was that he devoutly believed one of his main purposes in life was to help others have a great experience in Thailand. I was touched beyond words.

Incidentally, Phuket (pron. poo-KET) is one of the most beautiful places, maybe even the most beautiful place, it has ever been my privilege to see.

Phuket is dotted with small, picturesque islands like this, many of which have beaches with the finest, softest sand in the world. I almost couldn't believe it when I saw it. The sand is like very fine cornmeal. Orchids grow wild and exotic butterflies flutter about. It's otherworldly. Remember that scene in "Avatar," with the floating islands? It had to have been inspired by Phuket.
