Obama's Farewell Speech Lived Up To Everything I Thought It Would Be

Submitted by: fancylad 3 months ago News & Politics

President Obama's final speech as a POTUS had a little bit of everything: Some laughs, some tears, big applause for Joe Biden, and a little hope in going forth with the world's next chapter. I can't find the full feed of Obama's farewell speech, but I'll keep looking and get it up as soon as possible so it can be dissected, but I really liked this short minute-long clip of Obama giving a little shine to Biden who is a 100 percent class act. Again, I don't know if Biden would be a good pick for the Dems in 2020, but why the hell not? Next to Hillary, Biden is as close to a sure shot than any Democrat I can think of.

A speech of strength in unity, that his detractors are now vilifying.

Watching his farewell speech made the realization set in that the next American president will make George w seem intelligent. I think trump will unite republicans and democrats in the cause to impeach him hopefully before he does to much damage or surrenders to Russia.

I know it seems counter-intuitive but I just don't watch the political speeches. It seems so pointless to me. Debates, I know what they're going to say. Speeches, they've already made their MO clear. I just never bother.

Same, I read the transcripts and then watch the highlights. I don't have time to sit through an entire Obama speech.

I don't usually either. I watched pieces of this one while working late. To listen to him you would think we just had the greatest 8 years of US history when in fact he was really an utter failure for most of us.
