In case you haven't heard, Trump just appointed Ajit Paim as the Chairman of the FCC.
Net Neutrality is very important to the continued access of information. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is bad for all of us in America.
I know I'm not the only one who has only a single internet provider choice (Comcast) and they are sticking it to me as it is, but if we lose our protections, the cost will become unaffordable again, just like in the late '80s into the early '90s when having cable was only available to those with a lot of spare income.
However what makes it worse with losing internet is that it will disconnect you from the world and our way of life right now, as much as it pains me to say it.
All of this on top of the hidden costs, Netflix or any other service will be screwed by internet providers, pushing the cost onto us. Comcast and other providers will also have the power to limit what you can access, much like they way China treats it's citizens.
This isn't some conspiracy theory, they are ready to deploy this architecture. Kiss your streaming TV shows and torrents goodbye. Music on YouTube... gone. If you don't pay Comcast's ransom fees, your site is blocked. Say something negative about it... you'll be deleted from The Interwebs.
Call me crazy, but if we lose Net Neutrality, we are all fucked.
