Canada Is Putting The Woman Who Fought Segregation On Its $10 Bill

While the rest of the world is spinning its wheels and in many countries, seemingly moving backwards in regards to humanity, Canada is showing us how it's done.
Canada's Finance Minister Bill Morneau announced yesterday that Viola Desmond (both seen in the photo above) will be on the the front of the new $10 bill in 2018.
For those of you now in the know, Desmond was referred to as the Canadian Rosa Parks. In 1946, she thought "screw this shit" and sat in the whites-only section of a movie theater in Nova Scotia.
A black woman often described as Canada’s Rosa Parks for her 1946 decision to sit in a whites-only section of a Nova Scotia movie theater will be the first Canadian woman to be celebrated on the face of a Canadian banknote. Nine years before Parks made her move to the front of the bus.
Good for you, Canada -- you seem to be headed in the right direction.
