A Guide For Liberals Who Are Suddenly Interested In Gun Ownership

Here's a guide to sorting out myths from facts for the Democrat who suddenly feels personally threatened by Donald Trump and intends to fight back.

Adam Corriea uses facts, good humor and a no-nonsense approach to lay out the truth for all to see. It's not too long, divided into convenient subsections and has supporting links! And the comment section is worth a read, too.

The common rail system prototype was developed in the late 1960s by Robert Huber of Switzerland and the technology further developed by Dr. Marco Ganser at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, later of Ganser-Hydromag AG (est.1995) in Ober?geri.
The first successful usage in a production vehicle began in Japan by the mid-1990s. Dr. Shohei Itoh and Masahiko Miyaki of the Denso Corporation, a Japanese automotive parts manufacturer, developed the Common Rail fuel system for heavy duty vehicles and turned it into practical use on their ECD-U2 common-rail system mounted on the Hino Rising Ranger truck and sold for general use in 1995.[3] Denso claims the first commercial high pressure common rail system in 1995.[4]
Modern common rail systems, whilst working on the same principle sensor are governed by an engine control unit (ECU) which opens each injector electronically rather than mechanically. This was extensively prototyped in the 1990s with collaboration between Magneti Marelli,Centro Ricerche Fiat and Elasis. After research and development by the Fiat Group, the design was acquired by the German companyRobert Bosch GmbH for completion of development and refinement for mass-production Common Rail Nozzle . In hindsight, the sale appeared to be a tactical error for Fiat, as the new technology proved to be highly profitable. The Common Rail Injector Valve had little choice but to sell, however, as it was in a poor financial state at the time and lacked the resources to complete development on its own.[5] In 1997 they extended its use for passenger cars Common Rail Injector . The first passenger car that used the common rail system was the 1997 model Alfa Romeo 156 2.4 JTD,[6] and later on that same year Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI.
Common Rail Shim & Gasket kit have been used in marine and locomotive applications for some time. The Cooper-Bessemer GN-8 (circa 1942) is an example of a hydraulically operated common rail diesel engine, also known as a modified common rail.

Amazing how people bring up "Obama care" but not the 17 TRILLION spent on wars based on Bush's lies. Not important, but interesting.

It's kind of an annoying read for me personally. I'm pretty left wing on most issues but I've always been a supporter of gun ownership for personal protection or mostly just to have some fun at the range. The author seems to just reinforce the idea that all liberals have the same beliefs on ALL issues, just as many others reinforce the idea that all conservatives feel the same about ALL issues. In reality there are many people that have different political views depending on the subject at hand, not everything has to be just left vs. right. Everyone has had personal experiences that shape their beliefs on individual topics.

Hi rammo34! While it is true that there are some, many even, Democrat politicians who actively support the 2nd? The 'top brass' clearly do NOT. That's why they could not 'ram through' sweeping legislation when they held all 3 levels of Gov't, eh? They didn't have the votes even within their own party. They barely managed to ram through Obamacare! >>> The DNC and MSM (sorry to be redundant) have been pushing every one of the 'lines' mentioned in the article for years now! Decades! Never mind the facts they tell us, don't listen to the 'gun lobby' they say. Of course 'grassroots Democrats' hold more variety in their opinions, we all know that. But the people at the top all believe the exact same dogma (in regards to the 2nd I mean) or they wouldn't be there...

It fascinates me how well this type of material works to keep people in the us versus them camps. It works so well that you have people that go to great lengths to perpetuate the us v them, this thread for example. I am a liberal and own several guns and have a ccw, been hunting since I was eight. I know conservatives that have and do support gay marriage. Letting others keep the us v them fight going is the greatest con job in history, it gets people to support ideas that hurt them, and deny the obvious if it supported by the other. It causes people to live in echo chambers, not literally, so they don't hear any other ideas. The Republicans were fooled the last presidential election the Democrats this one, because the only voices they hear are in agreement with them. This only works if you let it though so there is a way past it.

Thanks DromEd! it was VERY funny eh? And entirely accurate, I thought. :-) Unlike the gun-grabbing histrionics, lies and deliberate deceptions, the pro-gunners can calmly talk about the actual facts. We fully understand each and every point the grabbers make, we do! We just think they are wrong... or false.

Why would anti-gun people be interested in owning firearms?

The very people(politicians) pushing to overturn the 2nd Amendment are protected 24/7 by armed security. They LOVE guns! Just not for YOU to own one...

Where does the article say anything about "anti-gun" people...Did you associate it with the term "Liberal"?

"With liberals suddenly interested in arming themselves for a civil war or something, here's some practical gun-buying info." Perhaps this made me think of people who had no intention of wanting a firearm before the election, yet I do not recall the civil war part.

"Why would anti-gun people be interested in owning firearms?" - What makes you think they would be?
