Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Parade Has Nothing On Zundert [Pics]

The Bloemencorso Zundert in the Netherlands must have been where Pasadena got its Rosebowl flower parade idea from. Zundert is a village in the southern tip of the Netherland’s and they've been running the world’s largest flower sculpture parade since the 1930s. The event takes place at the beginning of every September and has become a generational tradition where everyone in the village pitches in. They spend two months building the float frames and then have literally two-days to get the flowers mounted before they wilt and die. The day of the parade looks like a lot more fun than what happens every January down Colorado Street. I'm just sayin'.

I think the Rose Parade started around Jan. 1st, 1890, so it might have started a bit earlier than this one.
