"White Flight" Still Used As An Excuse To Keep Mississippi Schools Segregated

Sixty-two years after desegregation was instituted by Brown vs. Board of Education, some public embarrassment of a shithole in Mississippi is finally being held to the legal standard.
Interestingly a portion of the board of education members in this modern-day Brown vs. BOE clown show are African-American, “The District is overseen by Superintendent Jacqueline Thigpen, an African-American woman, and by a five-person school board (“Board”), of which two members are African-American“
GOOD wrote an [overly-worded] article on the story barely explaining how a town in the USA, in the 21st century, has gotten away with still having white public schools with black public schools across town. There were a few years – 1969, 1985, and 1995 - where the government asked Cleveland, Mississippi to get with the program, the town acknowledged they would, built some more segregated schools, and then they intentionally dropped the ball.
In 2011, the federal government finally told Cleveland to abide by the law or face consequences to which the board ignorantly retorted that integration would upset their delicate sensibilities of bullshit via instigating “white flight.” I say fine, then. Fly the fuck away “whitey.”
