Popular Science has a video, some photographs, and a strange logo from a mysterious rocket launch on June 11th. United Launch Alliance -- a Lockheed Martin and Boeing space partnership is said to have launched what Popular Science assumes is a spy satellite or some kind of surveillance technology.

who knows what went up. But I have never begrudged one penny spent on space exploration. I watched the first man walk on the moon and at 61 I will be lucky to see man walk on the moon again. We should have been living there by now and maybe we would have the technology necessary to go to Mars you cant get there from here you need a space launched system to reach Mars we should be on our way already. We waist our man power and resources on human conflict and petty bullshit. Man are explores by nature and here we sit on our fat asses.

I watched this when it launched. There is nothing more fascinating than watching something leaving our planet into orbit. This one is a pretty good watch.

With you kalron27, one can only imagine what could have been accomplished spending ka-trillions of dollars on space exploration instead of the BS we've spent it on. Launching starships from real space stations?

Ever Flown? Your life may have depended on Aircraft anti-icing systems. Do you drive/ride? Your life may have been saved by improved radial tires. How many fire-resistant materials are in your home and car? Your local fire department has much lighter fire-fighting equipment because of space exploration. Have you ever slept on a Temper foam bed? Feed your baby enriched baby food? Ever used a Dust-buster? Do you eat food? (the FDA's HACCP guidelines are a direct result of NASA research.) Also include Water purification, Solar cells, Infrared ear thermometers, Ventricular assist device (your life may depend on that one some day), Artificial limbs, Scratch-resistant lenses, etc.
