There Are Two Kinds Of News [Pic]

Submitted by: ElectricEye 1 year ago

Both headlines are 100% accurate. It"s still manipulating the truth to grab attention and gives people the wrong idea.

HG: "Fox News is consistently shown to be the least reliable network.."

Only by it`s liberal critics, mind you. Because what the "truth" is to liberals is mostly one big damn lie. The rest of the MSM has been found not only to be complicit but also duplicitous in it`s reporting. They ignore the IRS scandal, for example, yet call for the NJ Governor`s impeachment over the NJ bridge lane restriction.

It`s better for everyone that all of the news is not liberal one-sided pablum.
The last guy he really liked was ross perot. What did you think of him?
Ross Perot was a self-centered ego-maniacal little prick who hated George Bush. He sabotaged his campaign and tipped the election to Bill Clinton who won with 43% of the popular vote. He was not a conservative, nor were the majority of his supporters.

You just confirmed my assessment of your dad.

@HolyGod.

That `poll` result has been debunked, repeatedly. The questions they used were ambiguous at best, incorrect at worst. The `sampling` came strictly from one city (New Jersey), hardly representative.

Fox News try to bring the attention of the audience via sensationalism and "terrorism". I can clearly see some redneck gearing up for somethingh like a zombie apocalypse after the Fox News.

"What the f*** is "sensationalized"

You really don`t get how "EBOLA PATIENT IN US" is sensationalized? You don`t think that was intentionally written to sound like someone had caught ebola in the US vs a patient from africa was transported here for treatment? 1 scenario is much scarier than the other.

"#3 is just an outright lie"

OK

"I hate to break it to you, but your dad is a liberal Republican"

It is amazing to me that you would make such an overreaching judgement call on my dad JUST because he hates FOX NEWS.

I don`t know about any of those guys. I know he voted republican every election since reagan. The last guy he really liked was ross perot. What did you think of him?

Now Ollie is just being intentionally dense.

Which is not to be confused with his normal state of complete ignorance.

What the f*** is "sensationalized" about a simple factual headline? Is it because they used all caps? One is a HEADLINE, and the other is a complete sentence. They say almost exactly the same thing except the CNN post is more detailed.

I just can`t see any explanation for this other than pure unadulterated hate.

#3 is just an outright lie, and there`s polling data to prove it. Just go to YouTube and search for "How Obama got elected." Also, check Zogby`s scientific poll that confirms the results of the interviews in the vid.

Regarding #4, I hate to break it to you, but your dad is a liberal Republican. Just ask him which Republicans he likes. (Let me guess, Bloomberg, Graham, Crist, McCain, Christy?) Then see what the conservative web sites like RedState and FreeRepublic have to say about them. If conservatives don`t like them, it`s because they`re not conservatives, and neither, apparently, is your dad.

"Okay, HG, what`s your explanation for comparing a headline to a story synopsis, and holding that up as reflecting negatively on the publisher of the headline if it isn`t the pathological hate for Fox News that is common to liberals?"

1. It wasn`t a synopsis and a headline. It was two headlines, one was just overly sensationalized.

2. It could have been CNN and MSNBS with MSNBC being sensationalized and it would still be amusing to me because not EVERYTHING is about teams.

3. Fox News is consistently shown to be the least reliable network with the least informed viewers. If you don`t agree its because you don`t think so since everything they say agrees with what you think.

4. It isn`t just liberals. My dad is a Republican. He HATES Fox News. He hates sensationalism, bias, punditry and news as entertainment.

@rich
Seem to recall noticing it once before years ago..only seems to be happening on this page now tho, even after navigating away and back again, and after a refresh as well...I`ll send you some pics..
Sorry, I won`t attempt it again.

Unfortunately the biggest headline is all that matters. people don`t like facts and real history or science. Although having Cosmos on primetime was awesome! Discovery, history, used to be about REAL events and documentaries now, it`s tripe. Same goes for TLC. May as well call that channel honey boo boo all day.

Before my mod-hood, every now and then it would give me the option to delete another`s comments, but it would usually only appear after I had made a comment. And it would usually only appear under one person`s post, not everyone`s.

I`ve noticed it at least a year ago.

@jaysingrimm:
You had the option to delete other peoples comments?! Have you noticed this before? When did it appear and do you still have option? Also please don`t attempt use the ability, honestly only mods should have that option. I wrote kitteh about the problem, but if you notice it again could you take a screen pic of it and send it to me plz. My email is richanddeadiab@gmail.com, just send it there or the contact IAB email or just post the pic. It would be a huge help, thanks in advance.

Another opinion....while O.O. Is expressing an albeit controversial opinion, it is a broad one...not sure it exactly warrants personal attacks...

That was weird, it looked like it was giving me the option to delete other people`s comments...tried to delete MadGremlyn`s...nothing happened...Option is gone now...

As for the topic, personally, I think both sides are guilty of sensationalizing things. I`m not entirely convinced there is such a thing as a media outlet without bias (aren`t they owned/operated by people with opinions?)...at least whoever`s phone this came from, is sensible enough to get their news from both sides...

@Rich
Agreed, I`ve resigned myself to watch channels like Discovery, History, and A&E, for entertainment value alone...I stay away from the fraudumentaries...

"You`re missing the constant seething hate that is eating away at the guts of liberals."

I used to just think you were a crotchety old man, unloved and devoid of feelings. Now I think you`re just trolling because nobody could really be this bad naturally. You have to be putting effort in.

"Actually, CNN`s originally read: "Plane carrying American doctor with Ebola lands at Dobbins Air Reserve Base near Atlanta...Pilots fail to spot Malaysian Flight 370 en route. More details in five minutes."

To use CNN as an example of a news organization that doesn`t use misleading news titles does this example a disservice. Better than MSNBC or MSN, but still.

Still better than Discovery Channel. Has anyone seen some of the fake documentaries they have been putting out lately. They`ve taken to strait up fabricating whole incidents and facts. I was watch the "Wrath of Submarine" documentary yesterday and I just felt so sad for what has happened to that station, I was once a huge fan of it.
