I am hoping to survive the middle ages, and then, the old ages. So enough with these negative waves.

gun shield is mislabelled.

`tripple dagger` is for parrying and trapping

@5Cats

don`t want to nitpick, but wouldn`t that be "don`t think that WENT unnoticed?"

@LemonCurry: It seems that @RCola is happy to have spotted @LordJim`s subtle play on words :->

@Elkingo: Only on baby seals... :-P

And every army on Earth still issues bayonets, despite Obama`s foolish outburst during the debate...

"I don`t think anyone did."

Thank you, Nickel, you said it way better than I could.

TB, it isn`t hate at all. In fact there is so much about the US I adore. My biggest gripe is your country`s obsession with weapons and agression. It just seems to run through every aspect of American life.

turdburglar - Wow, who pissed on your cornflakes this morning?
On this side of the pond, the impression that we get is that Americans believe medieval England was a place of perpetual misery and oppression by people with nasty weapons.
This is not America - hate; this is observation rather than criticism. Don`t forget that Hollywood puts out an enormous amount of vivid stuff for the consumption of the blood-thirsty action-movie-goer, and the populace having no other reference than movies, take them as historic truth.

drawman61 -
Please chill out with the constant America hate.
No one is asking you to like America, but please stay on topic.

There was no bans on assault daggers, and no limit on clips for crossbows.

ElectricEye - Seriously how did ANYONE survive the middle ages?

drawman61 - Same as today, EE, because not everyone was attacked every minute of every day as you `muricans believe.

Yeah, they save it for sporting events now.

Well, I do take that back... I saw a morning star once with a rectangular type of head. I think it is the "spikes" that make it look like a star, or some such.

JoexBro - Yea, I noticed. It is just that it is inaccurate. Chain = flail, pole = mace.

mace with a round ball /c spikes = morning star

@Elkingo, the author says in the description that it was either attached to a baton (like the example you gave) or attached to the chain.

Simple always works best, some of those "fancy looking" weapons didn`t work all that well. But the basics (spear, club, bow, knife, shield) lasted in various forms for thousands of years.

That isn`t a morning star. That is a flail. Here is a morning star:
