Kids are better than sleep. No amount of sleeping in will ever compare to your kids saying "I love you daddy" (or mommy).

As someone who had kids early in life and is now enjoying a semi-retirement in his early 50`s, I can attest to the accuracy of both sides of that list.

As someone without kids, I can confirm this is accurate. *adjusts sleep number*

I`m going to post this just because I`m surprised that no one really knows about it. I heard it mentioned in psyc class in uni and later confirmed by the interwebs.

Garlic increases testosterone. The males testosterone levels influence the sex of the child. If you and your partner want to engage in planned parenthood, the behaviours (and health) of the male can have influence the range of possible outcomes. Cheers.

No kids here, just bad sleep habits. Sometimes I`ll awaken at 5am, sometimes 5pm, other times 7am and once 2am. I`m still trying to sleep.

There is no such thing as sleep in our home..I love every bit of it..I didn`t know what I was missing until I became a mama..I remember just 8 years ago, before I had children my idea of fun on a Saturday night would be going out to the clubs and dancing the night away..Now my idea of a good time on Saturday night is actually making it through a whole movie before finally passing out from exhaustion...

I have two kids and never had half of those problems.

This morningI woke up about 7 but my wife and I just laid there half asleep/awake. In the meantime our kids got up (didn`t even hear them) and made themselves bowls of cereal and sat down to watch TV quietly.

I finally got up around 9 when our dog walked up and laid her head on my arm half an inch from my face to let me know that it was time for her to go outside.

Haha, I`m always up before my kids, every day, guaranteed. They`ve always slept like a couple teenagers, not morning people at all.

Used to work nights (9 years or so)
Made redundant after 24 years 7 weeks ago, my sleep pattern is about as fecked as fecked is.
I go to bed about Midnight or so, my brain still tells me I should be awake, finally flake out about 3 am, Kitteh jumps on me and wakes me up, at 6.30am - used to being fed at this time (The time I got home when working nights) Urghhhhhh!

True. Six on a work day, seven on a holiday. Maybe eight if the weather is foul and I`m hungover.

My friends` kids wake up around 9 or 10, and they`re 1 1/2 and 4 years old. But then again, their parents are night owls and don`t make them fall asleep at a certain time.

Kids or not, If you don`t get out of bed until 11, there is something wrong with you. Either physically or mentally.

i dont know, to be honest i think having something to distract from my insomnia and horrible, terrifying nightmares would be a godsend.

600 lying in bed awake staring into darkness.
630 still darkness. nothing but eternal darkness.
700 sun begins to rise, casts scary shadows all around your room.
800 finally begin to drift to sleep. you hear what you think is a baby crying off in the distance as you fall asleep.
830 terrible fiery demons bathes your body in whips and flame. you are in hell.
900 the hoots of an owl can be heard through the window, its wide eyed gaze peers into your soul.
930 you wake up from what you thought were scratching noises coming from under your bed.
1000 the scratching sounds persists, you tell yourself it is just the house settling.
1030 you lie frozen in terror as you watch with your own eyes the shadows in your room swirling about to form a figure of shadow.
1100 the sun has fully risen, but the shadowy figure te
