No. I had a quick look at their site and saw no sign that they were racist liberals. My sole point was to counter OldOllie`s kneejerk assertion that the blame for the existence of the question lies with racist liberals.

seems like it`s more cultural than racist. in the US, pb&j is a common lunch food for a bunch of kids despite race or creed. plus, how it`s made is in the f`n name. it`s just a benign assignment that someone wants to get all butthurt about.

@Angi:
So you knew they were supposedly "Republican"? Was this before or after I pointed it out?

Perhaps not the best phrasing and analogy I admit, but my point is you made a claim and showed no evidence to support it. Yes, I suspected you probably did know about the questionable nature of the group (although you made no mention), which is why I implied you were blaming someone else without cause.

You still haven`t proven that you weren`t...

turdburglar: Why don`t you go and try and find an example where I ever used the term "all liberals"?

Enjoy that wild goose chase, because I don`t say/write blanket statements like that.

Why? because I`ve learned to not use absolute terms in reference to others, All, Ever, Never, Always, etc...
They make any such statements into a lie because not all people of any group, ever, never, always do or say anything.

Sure, the teacher in question is racist, hypocritical and liberal. But she didn`t say that PB&J sandwiches are racist. That`s not her story.

Bugger, I was wrong.

EAG were the first to claim that the teacher had said that PB&J sandwiches are racist, but they weren`t the first to mention PB&J sandwiches. That was a reporter from the Portland Tribune. EAG took the reporter`s partially true sensationalism and distorted it further (without ever checking anything, apparently), but the creator of the story was from the Portland Tribune.

So...is that a liberal group? I`m only writing in reply to the claim that the question must have been asked only by racist liberals (which is still about the EAG, since they were the first to ask that question), not about the story or stories about the story or what really happened.

That might be true if I claimed there was a PB&J story on that site. But I didn`t. I claimed, BECAUSE IT IS TRUE, that organisation is the origin of the story. The original news story was written by one of their writers for their purposes. They were the first person to mention PB&J sandwiches and they were the first person to "ask" if PB&J sandwiches are racist. It`s their story. For that organisation. Which isn`t a liberal group, which is the only point I was making.

There are two ways to make a PB&J.

The correct way if you`re going to eat it immediately: From bottom up layer Bread, PB, Jelly and top with bread.

BUT, if you`re packing it for lunch. Spread a thin layer of PB on both slices, and put Jelly in between (keeps the Jelly from soaking into the bread).

Daegog-
All conservatives are inherently racist
Liberals, on the other hand, find it impossible to hide their ignorance.

The `logic` behind the `racist` PB&J is from a school prinicple that states `other nationalities might not eat sandwiches`...so obviously serving them is `racist`. (So I guess Taco Bell is racist as hell).

The same prinicple also provides a racist and sexist drum class..in which you must be male and black or hispanic. If you`re female, or white or asian, you cannot be in the class. (somehow this is not considered either `racist` or `sexist`.)

I read OldOllie`s linked article. Some of what this lady said makes some sense; especially if it`s one of those areas where people cluster in ethnic zones but end up in the same school. She also though it was okay to have a club meant solely for minority boys, but that there was nothing prejudiced about that. So, yeah, there`s a problem. The problem here isn`t politics, though, and I really think it`s ridiculous to start the anti-liberal stupidity, here. She`s a child of Mexican immigrants and is probably hypersensitive to anything that might be considered anti-minority from having had to deal with prejudice as she grew up here. She`s blinded to the reverse prejudice in her own actions, though.

So these kids are Americans, they live in America, but they don`t know what a "sandwich" is because of their skin colour?
There`s no Subway, McDonalds or other places in their town?

It`s like assuming a white kid doesn`t know what a Taco is... ffs.

And the IAB Liberal Brigade RACES to their defense!!
(see what I did there? :->)

"The argument is that not all the asians, oriental asians, latinos, africans will have the same cultural background and know what a PBJ sandwhich is. Therefore the white natives will have a subtle advantage by knowing the subject matter."

That has to be the stupidest racial argument on white privilege I have ever heard in my entire life.

I mean.. hell the recipe is in the name of the damn sandwich.

Actually looked it up and read different comments on some of the stories.

Supposedly there is an attempt to improve minority grades in some ethnically diverse areas. And teachers are being told to have weekly meetings and lesson to "check their privilege" and learn about "white privilege" (as a side note i`d love for these guys to try it back in their ethnic majority countries)

Some teachers as a writing assessment get kids to write out how to make a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwhich.

The argument is that not all the asians, oriental asians, latinos, africans will have the same cultural background and know what a PBJ sandwhich is. Therefore the white natives will have a subtle advantage by knowing the subject matter.

But that`s how this argument started...

@OldOllie is absolutely correct: This "story" was started by a flaming liberal schoolteacher.
>She thinks an "all Latino drum group" is NOT racist, but a PBJ Sammich IS RACIST!

+1 @OldOllie! Facts > Liberal whiners

Angi, I tried to read your link. It didn`t contain any useful information. Maybe these people were among the dozens who reported on the story, but they didn`t make the remark about PB&J being racist. That was a liberal teacher in Portland, Oregon. Why don`t you read my link? It`s to the original news story.
@Angilion I could not find any reference to PB&J in your link.
Hardly surprising, since (as I stated in the post) that link is to the organisation which created the story. The people who you immediately (without any knowledge of who they were) slated as racist liberals. So...is that a liberal organisation?

@Angilion I could not find any reference to PB&J in your link.

The story was about a racist liberal idiot teacher in Portland, Oregon. It was first reported in the Portland Tribune on 6 Sep 2012.

My curiousity is piqued.

Ah, it`s about sensationalist reporting with a political bias on something that never really happened. Plenty of that going around. The sandwich was used as an example of something that`s everyday in one culture but might not exist in another culture.

[quote">The sandwiches aren`t racist. The liberals asking the question, though, definitely are.[/quote">

This organisation is the origin of the story. Do you think they are liberals?

Well, racists tend to have more or less the same IQ as a PB&J sandwich. But I don`t think all PB&J sandwiches are the same.
