    smag -

Don`t be such a bleeding heart.
Mostly, I was just kidding. Trolling drawman.
I can honestly say IF he had shot one of them, I wouldn`t loose any sleep.
Actually, I would sleep better knowing there was one less criminal to worry about hurting my family.

But, truthfully smag...I am reasonably sure you already knew I was messing around.

I`m going to forever disagree with taking a life over an inanimate object. People are not perfect and death is permanent. Stealing shouldn`t be punishable by death.

Turd I share some opinions with you this is not one of them.

    turbuglar,

if he had a gun and shot unarmed people, even people that were stealing, he would have gone to jail for murder. you cannot claim self defense if that defense far exceeded what was necessary to actually defend yourself.

and no, people do not deserve to die for stealing, what is this the freaking middle ages? they got their asses beat real good...that fit the almost crime they attempted.

    freak -

That`s fine. I never said they deserve to die, just that I don`t care.

I find it completely disingenous when people play the part of "I have better morals than you" on the internet. I sincerely doubt you ACTUALLY care.

It`s more like "I want to feel like a good person, so I act like I actually care".

I won`t bother caring about a dead criminal I hear about on the internet or news. You can say you feel bad for them, but I don`t believe it. It`s just your way of putting me down, and feeling better about yourself.

At least I`m being truthful to myself and you.

Saying you care doesn`t count, it requires actions. Not caring is honest and easy. Don`t forget, we are on the internet.

    Jamie -
Refer to my last comment, and add the fact that I never said that shooting an unarmed criminal isn`t a crime. It is. That`s why I won`t be the one doing it.

I have no sympathy for violent criminals. I find it sad that you people care so much for the worst kind of people enough to punish their victims with murder charges.
The criminals planned out their actions. The victims have to make a split second reaction to their violence.

In many cases it`s against the law to shoot an unarmed person, but if they do...I would like their sentencing to reflect the fact that they were forced to make a choice by the violent criminal. I wouldn`t call it murder, but other charges may be more fitting.

Before I get too much bleeding heart complaints just remember, my first comment was clear. Drawman is anti-American troll who pry`s his irrational fear of inanimate objects into any comment possible.
    I was replying to him.

Turdburglar just so I`m clear you are 100% right. I do not feel sorry for a thief that gets shot. What I do "feel" is what are the consequences of allowing such actions? If someone is stealing your stuff and you don`t know their intent and they are in your house guess what, you have free range to shoot. Because you don`t know the intent. However, if someone causes the thieves to flee and gives chase and kills one of them I`m NOT ok with that. It`s not because I feel sorry for anyone it`s because the precedence it sets. It is the acceptance that your belongings are greater than a human life and it`s breach of the system of justice we have in place. The penalty for theft is not death. Nor should it be.

I agree with you. I wouldn`t want it legal to give chase and shoot in the back either. Making that legal would open a can of worms.

I intend on following the law in real life.
As for criminals I hear about on the news or internet...we are better off without them. I will side with the victim.

I think we are close to being on the same page here. I am blunt, which sounds pretty heartless some times. Some others here seem to be pretty far off. Different page, chapter, book, library.

It is weird for me to hear people stand up for violent criminals, and put down the victim.
