Incredible job! The announcers get a little over-the-top, but, to be fair, they do that all the time. Here`s what I know: I could last about half the time she did on that log grip, and I would have been done. I mean, I`d like to think I could do more, but then there`s reality. The rest of what she did? Freakin` amazing! Bravo, Kacy!

I think the fact that is is just 5 foot tall and she made it through that course is even more impressive than the fact that she is a woman.

I give her A LOT of credit for the fact that she did finish the city qualifier round. I honestly didn`t think she would be able to! So go her..but she did not finish American Ninja Warrior..just the qualifiers. She still has a LONG way to go to win it all!

she did NOT finish american ninja warrior
she finished the first qualifier round
and, while she was the first woman to do it, there have been 2 other women to finish it this season, both of whom did it far better than her.
kacy took all three attempts and a three minute breather to get up the wall.
one of the women made it up the wall on her first attempt.
the other took all three attempts but didnt take an extended breather plus it was her very first time ever attempting the course.

not saying she isnt good, just saying shes clearly not the best and that the only reason she was first was because they went to her city before the others`

"kacy took all three attempts and a three minute breather to get up the wall."

Did they just cut this to make it look like she did it on the first try? This video certainly gives the impression she did it the first time.

This has become a national story because she is super cute.

She is talented and deserves every ounce of credit, but if she was a butchey, fug-looking woman this would not be all over the place.

Yes, best to shut off the commentary. She clearly makes it through the course because of her compact size and light weight. It doesn`t even look like it took her much effort.

"You can`t help but interject your liberal baloney, can you?"

What the f.uck are you babbling about? How is that pro or anti liberal or any other generalized position?

Its just a fact that`s all.

Nobody gave a s.hit about women`s MMA until Gina Coranno and then as soon as she lost we stopped caring again until Rhonda Rousey.

Danica Patrick is a NASCAR superstar despite exactly 0 wins.

Lolo Jones is the most famous female on the US olympic team and has zero olympic medals.

The biggest female athlete in the world in terms of exposure at one point was Ana Kournikova and I don`t think she ever one a single match herself.

Are you telling me being attractive doesn`t immensely help a female athlete and that in reality, in terms of fame, looks are more important than actually winning?

    Crawl back into your hole.

Her accomplishment is impressive no matter what, but are you telling me, honestly, that if she wasn`t super cute she`d still be a featured story on MSN, Yahoo, CNN, ESPN, Esquire, Reddit, etc?

Women are nothing more than pretty reproduction machines. While men are nothing more than maintenance workers for those machines.

    @UltimateKewl

This was the second round the Dallas finals with four additional obstacles which she completed. This time she made it up the wall in her first attempt, so we will see if any of the other 2 women who completed the first round will also be able to complete this tougher round.

    @HolyGod

In the first round the qualifying round she took 3 attempts but this was the 2nd round the Dallas Finals and she made it up in her first attempt.

Incredibly impressive considering her massive size and reach disadvantage which played a key role in several of the obstacles particularly the 2nd and 3rd to last where she had to leap for the obstacles where other contestants were able to reach for them.

HG: "How is that pro or anti liberal or any other generalized position?"

It`s part of the typical liberal mindset that if pretty women succeed it`s all because of their looks.

And I`ll give you one HUGE example of how your statement of, "..being attractive immensely help(s) a female athlete..", is total Bullsh|t. Billie Jean King, former World No. 1 professional tennis player. King won 39 Grand Slam titles, including 12 singles and she`s not pretty.

So take your baloney about only pretty women being successful athletes and shove it! That belief is both condescending and sexist.

She`s the first to do it, of course she would.
The first woman to climb Mt. Everest wasn`t cute, or ugly for that matter, just average looking and she made headlines worldwide.

Your, "looks are more important than actually winning", baloney goes to show just how shallow you are. And that kind of shallowness is usually indicative of ones own insecurities about their looks.

So we had this on on one tv at the bar I work at. It trumped everything, the baseball games, the Open, and all our staff were distracted by it for the few minutes. Everyone now wants to build the course in their backyard. Carry on and sally forth to finishing something.

HAHAHAHA. Jesus, you moron, I didn`t say being attractive helps them athletically. What are you talking about? I said being attractive helps their popularity, endorsements, TV time, exposure, etc.

If Billie Jean King and Ana Kournikova played tennis at the same time I promise you that Kournikova would have made more money in endorsement deals than King despite being a far less successful tennis player.

Well isn`t that the whole idea?

Athletic competitions will give you medals. They will give self-esteem. You will have (usually) corporations and sports club who will endorse you to help you make enough money to at least participate in the events.

Everything else is marketing, popularity, beauty, has nothing to do with the sport. And the millions come from businesses realizing a hot, recognizable, successful person (whether boy or girl) will actually boost sells of your wares if they endorse them.

So I give you`re both right. Sports don`t care on your beauty (it just happens most athletes at least are a little bit ripped and train for obvious reasons). But $ comes from the entire package.

Oh Bullsh|t, you didn`t. You said and I quote, "Are you telling me being attractive doesn`t immensely help a female athlete...", and you gave examples.

"If Billie Jean King and Ana Kournikova played tennis at the same time I promise you that Kournikova would have made more money..."

What a pant load. You really are fully devoted to the erroneous notion that a woman`s beauty enables her success.

Do you think Rhea Perlman & Whoopi Goldberg Got famous because they were pretty?

As I said before, your attitude about this is obviously rooted in insecurity about yourself.

I`m not saying that being pretty doesn`t help, but that is NOT the main factor in their success or failure, talent is. There are a lot of pretty faces in the world that have been complete failures.

Apparently she has a team of trainers (men) and coaches (men) supplied by the show because they were getting MUCHO HATE since no females were surviving the challenge...

Equality! There`s nothing a woman can`t do if she has a whole bunch of men helping her!! :-P

You are shockingly dense. "Help" them. Not help them WIN or SUCCEEDED in their SPORT. Help them financially. The f.ucking examples I gave were of women succeeding DESPITE not being all that successful in their sport. How can you possibly be this dumb?

This subthread reminds me of Danica Patrick and Michelle Mouton.

Michelle Mouton was one of the best racing drivers. Note the lack of qualifications - not one of the best female racing drivers, just one of the best racing drivers. In her best year, she was 2nd. Not 2nd in a race. Ranked 2nd in the world. She won plenty of races, obviously.

Danica Patrick is rich and famous because she`s a model who races cars. As a driver, she`s ranked...who knows? Nobody cares because that`s not what`s important about her. It sure isn`t 2nd in the world - has she ever won any race?

Do an image search for them both and see the difference. Half of the pictures of Danica Patrick are glamour model stuff.
