Well it looked like it was falling- tumbling, and not fast enough to burn up due to friction- so? Dunno.

Fireworks that didn`t go off at their apex, but then kinda fizzled almost all the way down?

Someone`s model rocket project where they attached model rocket engines to something, launched it and it started to burn most of the way down?

A manganese frisbee that got wet on the way down?

onoffonoffon nailed it. They`re flares intended to attract heat-seeking missiles away from the plane. We use them when taking off and landing in hostile areas.

There are several vids on YouTube. Here`s a good one.

if it was going to burn up, it would have done it long before reaching the point in the video where it seems to catch fire, otherwise it would have been burning the entire fall to is not something from space

Difficult to get a sense of scale, could be a fairly hefty meteorite. Seen similar myself.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that this is a video of a military aircraft shooting forward firing munitions (rocket or missile), then dropping flares as he egresses out (standard practice). The explosion heard is the munitions hitting their target.
