Darn, someone beat me to it. I was going to make a whole series of those based around my divorce. My favorite was the mommy and daddy fighting over the disney hat while the baby sat crying.

"If you really want to know what I think, I would have bombed them both back to the 7th century and never put a boot on the ground."

Well, he COULD have prevented it. So could bush have. Although I doubt he would have been any more likely to prevent it.

The war in Afghanistan was necessary. I think most everyone agrees. I`ve never been against it.

People were supporting Iraq on bad information and the support bush got following the attack. However without his administration driving it we wouldn`t have been there. Nobody was talking about Iraq.

In fact Afghanistan may have been a WHOLE lot more successful without diverting efforts to Iraq don`t you think?

@HG,
Don`t hold your breath waiting for sense in that argument. Conservatives can do no wrong and anything that actually does go badly was either an unforeseeable accident or done by liberals. Oh, there`ll be arguments that purport to put forth logic, but that`s just a veneer to pretty it up.

HG, Gore could not have prevented 9/11, and the Dems in congress were nearly unanimous in their support for the war in Afghanistan. They also supported the war in Iraq by a majority in the Senate and a substantial minority (40%) in the House. Considering that many of those votes against the war were actually just politically motivated votes against Bush, I think it`s safe to say we would have had both wars under Gore. It might, however, have worked out better without the Dems turning their coats and siding with the enemy out of pure spite for Bush.

The economy, though, would have been a different matter altogether. Gore would have gotten a 6-year head start on destroying the economy which didn`t actually start till the Dems took over congress in 2007.

@hg: The Al Gore brought us The Hockey Stick. He`s a certifiable idiot.

Bush wasn`t MY first pick, but he`s better than Gore (+15) and better than Kerry (+20) ANY day of the week!

Hey, @hg: How many US troops have died in wars since Obama took office? Check your facts before you shoot your mouth off, OK? Obama eagerly promoted Afghanistan, just so you remember it factually.

What should have been done in Iraq? Saddam torturing & killing thousands, violating the Cease Fire on a daily basis, bribing UN officials, thumbing his nose at the rest of the world.
WHAT should have been done?
Remember: the "peaceniks" (ie: Democrats) said the sanctions were "killing innocent children" so don`t even TRY to flog THAT horse...

My thoughts exactly, turdburglar. what`s even more funny is those same humorless people who see this on the internet and proceed to start a heated debate in the forums.

"It actually saved us from President Al Gore."

Saved us? I don`t know if Gore would have been a good president, but I find it hard to fathom that he could have been worse than Bush.

At the very least I pretty much guarantee the Iraq war wouldn`t have happened and that alone has killed more Americans than September 11th and every other terrorist attack in history combined.

You`re actually glad Bush was president?

That`s funny.
It`s not the thought of a coat-hanger abortion that is funny.

Just imagining all the people who couldn`t take a joke, and get all fired up and pissed off when this guy drives by...that`s funny.

5-Cats, it`s called the Roe Effect, and it`s real. It actually saved us from President Al Gore.

Good! The fewer abortion-fans who breed, the better!
We`ll just let them "Darwin" themselves into non-existence.
