I`d eat the BBQ and the cornbread, but I`ve always thought that coleslaw tastes like a fart salad.

I love BBQ and I must say I have traveled extensively (work) and tried every BBQ joint in every town I`ve come across. North Carolina BBQ is the worst tasting there is out there. Starting on the east coast, head west and the BBQ you experience will get better every state you go through until you get to Kansas City. They`ve got it going on out there, except it starts getting into beef there and down through Texas and I don`t care for the beef as much. Pork BBQ rules!
I`ve got a rib recipe that is off the hook and everybody raves about it and I`m proud of it. However, Central BBQ in Memphis, TN makes ribs that put mine to shame. TO SHAME, I say! They are so friggin good I am in awe of their mastery of the pit. The best you will ever taste. No offence North Carolina.

Monkeyspank: While I`ll give you a little on your comment, I think you should just say you don`t prefer NC style BBQ. You are more of the KC / Texas style man and that too is very yummy. I point you at the Hubba Hubba Smokehouse in Flat Rock NC. Some of the best ribs you will put in your mouth. While I don`t care for vinegar / mustard based sauces I also point you at Mourice`s in Columbia SC. If you closed your eyes, you`d swear it was a tomato based sauce. I could go on and on. I suggest you get out into the back country and off the Interstate. Sonny`s is good dependable corporate BBQ but they are nothing compared to the small gems sitting out in little towns like this.

Real good, I`m sure, but nothing beats the beef ribs, with spice rub, and sauce, with bourbon and many other good things. Serve up with cornbread and beans and coleslaw and my grandma`s potato salad. Eat, and die happy.

Thanks Sheckydamon, well said and well taken. I don`t care for NC BBQ. Also when I say BBQ what I should have said was the BBQ they put on plates and in sandwiches. Not including ribs. There`s a place in Robbinsville, NC that has ribs outstanding but I don`t prefer their BBQ. Also you must have misunderstood me because I don`t like Texas style BBQ KC is really good as long as it`s not beef. Hey! I`d sure love to try some of those Hubba Bubba ribs. I`ll bet they are fantastic. Also, I`ve only been in a Sonny`s once in my life and that was enough.*LOL*
