lol surely just a mistake, but there may be some truth to it...one cancer can make you more susceptible to another kind later in life, certainly a bone marrow transplant for one kind can make you a lot more likely to get leukemia in the future.

Listypoos-cancer can make you more susceptible to another kind

A little cancer never hurt anybody. Everybody needs a little cancer I think. It`s good for you. Keeps you on you`re toes...Maybe I can turn them cancers against one another. That`s what you gotta hope for, you know, that you get more than one cancer so they eat each other up instead of you. In fact, the way I look at it, the more cancer you got, the healthier you are. -George Carlin.

"In fact, the way I look at it, the more cancer you got, the healthier you are."

Maybe he`s right.. as I`ve said in other threads during the last few years, I`ve had it (lymphoma) twice... personally I think it`s a pussy and I`d beat it for a 3rd time tomorrow.. .by lunchtime.

largely that`s obviously just bravado... borne out of personal experience though that out of all the guys/girls i met through the common experience of cancer, the ones i recall dying were mainly the ones that were saying `omg.. .we`ve got cancer, we`re going to die`.

There were exceptions to the rule of course... good guys i met who carlin`s rule wouldn`t have applied... but i do know they`d have laughed at what he said rather than cried.

Adrian (Leicester bone marrow transplant unit 1997), Stuart (Lincoln hospital haematology ward)... gone but never forgotten. My mum adopted stuart because he had no one else to see him out of this world.

And that last post explains why I love my mum so much... doesn`t matter if it`s a random guy who needs someone, or her standing in front of my comrades in the military trying to shoot her cows during the foot and mouth crisis here.... she`s always been loyal to her own conscience.
