can`t say I often have a problem with people at the cinema. Most of the time people are fairly quiet, unless your going to one of the screenings that everyone goes to like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. Even then I think it`s just sheer numbers of people that are the problem.

I honestly don`t have an issue with getting up to use the loo, I don`t tend to go to cinema`s that are so packed you have to walk through 20 people to get there. Generally there`s quite a lot of empty seats...

    Two words... "Drive In"
Private, no noisy people. Tune the sound in through your car stereo {I have a good one}. A bucket of chicken or a pizza, microwave popcorn and a Big Gulp from 7-11 and you are all set.

The Toilet of Shame might attract a few exhibitionists who don`t really have to "go."

My dad was a talker at the movies, and my best friend is a talker at the movies. It is very annoying.

@747Pilot, "internet downloads ... and best of all, free!"

Internet piracy? Weren`t you just complaining about the moral decay of society in another thread?

I guess I`m missing something, because I have to agree with bataleon27 - it is very rare that I ever have a problem in a movie theater with the patrons causing problems. They may be a little noisy/rude at lights dimming and/or a bit into the trailers but settle down quickly enough.

The only time the crowd was noisy actually contributed to the film. I went to go see Halloween II at the theater (the original, with Jamie Lee Curtis - yeah, I`m old) and the theater was packed. All of the sudden, the crowd started hootin` and hollering and telling her not to run down those dark hospital halls, or take the elevator in the basement.. it was hilarious and lots of fun... good times.

This still wouldn`t get me back into a theater. They`re WAY too expensive, the food is a complete ripoff, the sound is inappropriately loud with too much bass, and if I want to take a piss break or just get up and stretch my legs, I either have to climb over everybody or sit way off the side on the aisle (theaters don`t have center aisles anymore), and to top it off I have to miss part of the movie.

I`ll take my own living room, my own flat screen, my own recliner, my own homemade pizza and popcorn, my own sound system, my own pause button, and my own toilet, thank you.

The reason I buy popcorn at the movies is so I can ping it at people who are being annoying.

But why do they have to put the popcorn in bags that rustle so bloody loudly?

Is this a cultural thing or just exaggerated for comedy? I have as far as I can remember never had any of these issues when going to the movies.

This is one reason I go to the Alamo Draft house (if you don`t have one near you... sorry). They have assigned seating, a no tolerance policy for talkers and phones, `baby day` showings for families with kids, and are classified as a `bar` so that no unaccompanied minors are allowed.

Actually, I like sitting way up front in the first row because no one is ever around you and the movie then fills your entire field of vision. Love that.

I`m with Ollie on this one. Cinemas are waaaay too expensive. We have a standard cinema and then we also have a `gold class` or `premiere` cinema with reclining chairs, fancy food that get delivered to you at set times in the movie and a price tag that sets off a heart attack. I think it was about $40 last time i went. and about $20 for the standard. That`s all without food or drink.

I support anyone who executes talkers, texters, smackers, slurpers, and wrapper-rattlers during a movie.

Seriously, shoot them in the back of the head (using a silencer, of course) and remove such creatures from the gene pool.
