Faith basically means to trust. Also, faith is a relatively new word borrowed from the French. It was not the word used in the bible.

Look it up.

Also, the garden of Eden story is a cultural myth. It is not the truth and completely untrustworthy as far as reality is concerned.

Hey! No worries @LemonCurry!
(ooo! That rhymed!)

It`s a free place here at IAB! Within reason of course. I welcome things I don`t agree with, it sparks the mind.

I was going to mention how if Judas DIDN`T betray Jesus the prophecies wouldn`t have been fulfilled... but since I don`t even believe in the Bible I decided not to ;-)

The ages-old questions of "Why did God do..." simply cannot be answered. That`s just how it is.

@Agentsmith So the question becomes, whats more important:

Faith or Truth? What happens when one doesn`t match the other? it`s not possible for everyone`s faith to be the truth (barring personal delusion of course)

The forbidden fruit is NOT a metaphor, we just don`t know what that fruit was. God is supernatural so trying to understand how the spirit works through a microscope is never going to happen. Sorry science, you have no faith.

Meh! Mildly amusing, but so "preachy" and obvious.

Wait, you actually expect religion to make sense and be logical?

No. It doesn`t make me think. It is not well made, not insightful, and like everyone always seems to do on all sides of these pointless debates, it cherry picks items necessary to make its points while ignoring the whole.

The forbidden fruit is a metaphore, it was within reach to show mans weakness and tendancy to sin.
