this was a stupid test. first, to make it as easy as they could, they made the program an 11 year old boy who couldnt speak english. then, they used regular people instead of experts. also the turing test was not meant for chat bots. touring meant for the test to be face to face questions. this allows the person to use reactions and subtle changes in dialogue to make the case and 5 min would have been enough. but chat bots use text alone. there is no hesitation in speech, no clues in feelings. on top of all of that only 30% got it wrong. this number needs to be higher.

Ah, not the first to point out bad science journalism is bad.

IAB tends to be less gullible than most places, I guess.

It fooled 1/3 of the Royal whoosie-wutzits? Whoopdee-doo. Send it on over to Reddit, Craigslist or Something Awful and see how far it gets.

Did it cuss a lot, like boobs, play COD, and have a squeaky voice?

If not, then I would not be fooled.

This is a hoax, the test was not done right. It`s a chatbot, not an AI. Google Kevin Warwick. his a notorious hoaxer and pseudoscientist. The test was set up so that the people talking with the computer were said it was a 13 year boy from Ukraine before the testing happened to get any confusing answers downplayed. Scientific tests do not setup such a scenario.

Anyone who knows enough bout AI knows Turing test is not the proper test for AI in the first place..
