Gee not jailing people for this was a good idea? No kidding. Finally chipping away at the for profit prison system. There`s much more to go still. This was one small step.

Just read a University of PA study that said weed causes sleep issues which in turn leads to many other health issues, but hey, they must be wrong because weed has never hurt anyone ever for any reason since time began. No one has ever died or even got the sniffles. And obviously crime is down because it is no longer illegal... duh. Or perhaps a contributing factor is so many people are now too stoned to care or actually do anything malicious (or non-malicious for that matter).

@papajon one of the reasons i smoke weed is to help me sleep. growing up as a child i had severe insomnia. my parents couldnt figure out why i was always so tired in the morning before school. i would lie in bed awake for hours until i finally fell asleep. by the time i got to highscool i had started taking sleeping medication, but the medication made me feel sick. i started smoking weed in highschool, and it wasnt until i was grabbing a little bit for myself to take home with me that i realized marijuana put me to sleep like nothing else and made me feel like a million bucks when i woke up. i have tried to get doctors to give me a prescription for medicinal marijuana, but all my doctors are old school and not open minded. to this day i still self medicate with marijuana to help me sleep. i of course also use marijuana recreationally, but for about 8 years now, every night i go to bed, i smoke a bowl of marijuana to help me sleep. screw your study.

Sorry Papajon, but from the Penn report on weed use for sleep:

"The research team notes that the study was not designed to determined causality, so they cannot determine the exact relationship between marijuana use and sleep disturbance..."

They did NOT prove that weed causes sleep disorders, but that there was an association.

This is a stupid morality based law. In light of overwhelming evidence, from actual educated scientists and doctors not just stoners, people still rage against the striking of a law that would likely make things better.

I smoke. Primarily to catch a buzz after a long week of work and game my ass off until I fall asleep with maybe a wake-n-bake the next day, but the awesome side-effects are: my back and knees dont slaughter me nearly as much (arthritis/ degenerative discs) my ADD is almost non existent (if I get Sativa strains), and I haven`t had an anxiety attack in 7 years (when i started smoking again after a 16 year hiatus whilst raising spawnlings) I`m not on ANY prescription drugs for any of my aches and pains (yet?) and my kids aren`t drug addicts in fact one is `meh` about pot, the other only partakes if he`s got a migraine.

I started smoking weed as a painkiller when I was around 30 and suffering from bad pain following a bone marrow transplant.....the tramadol they`d put me on made me feel really sick and didn`t work that well - weed did.

I also sleep a lot better when stoned, both longer and better quality. Normally I don`t sleep for more than 4 hours a night in two, two hour stints. When stoned I can easily sleep for double that.

I used to smoke it pretty much every day for those reasons.... then they changed my painkillers to something stronger so now I only smoke weed half a dozen times a year for social reasons, because I found when smoking it a lot that not only is it a good painkiller I do also love the feeling of being stoned.

From what I`ve heard, the prices at the heavily regulated government-sanctioned stores are so f***ing high, there`s still an active black market where you can buy better weed for a lot less.

If possession was legal, I would just grow my own.
