I hope a 18 wheeler appears one day rather then a pedestrian. These people are idiots doing it through towns.

Your lust for violent death is rather unlikely to be satisfied in that way. It is, of course, a closed track.

I doubt there are any 18 wheelers on the Isle of Man

It`s even more extreme than this clip shows. This is from the Isle of Man TT. The track is over 37 miles long, so he had to maintain that level of concentration for just shy of 20 minutes and he had to know every yard of the 37 miles - every bend, every camber, every incline.

Two dead so far this year. Nearly 250 dead since it started. It`s as dangerous as it looks.

In case anyone is thinking the racers are risking their lives for money in some kind of exploitative arrangement - the top prize is £20,000. They`re not doing it for the money.

For some more "it looks like fictional hyper-speed", here`s a clip from a village on the Isle of Man.

The 132 mph was an average. Sulby is astride a straight section of road, so it`s a faster than average section. The same rider who did the 132 mph average lap this year holds the record for the fastest recorded speed at Sulby - 206 mph.

This isn`t him doing that, but it gives the general idea. They`re probably doing the "normal" 180-190. There`s not much to see, but just listen to the extent of the Dopplering.

Don`t blink or you`ll miss it

@auburnjunky Thanks, didn`t see it was Isle of Man. I just watched the vid again and noticed the barriers. In that case, ride on!

@jbwhite, considering the Isle of Man has no speed limits and the amount of brainless people in the world there could be a parade with hundreds of people on the street.

    Gah, I was wrong.

    >37 miles is one lap. The full race is 6 laps, so he was doing this for nearly 2 hours.

That`s mental. I couldn`t do that in a game, sat in a comfy chair and knowing that a crash would just mean a lower score.

the Isle of Man has no speed limits

    That`s not exactly true.

The Isle of Man has no *fixed* *national* speed limit. There are local fixed speed limits (usually 30 mph in any built-up area, unsurprisingly) and there`s a national speed limit of "reasonable".

The guy`s an idiot. Doing this on a racetrack is one thing. Doing it on a road lined with trees and buildings is just begging for a Darwin Award.

@OldOllie it`s the TT or whatever, these roads are actually the racetrack, cordoned off for a few hour while a few dozen speed freaks "almost" kill themselves (a few manage to do so)

The TT is probably the last legal road race going,
its mental, and brilliant, Yes riders die, and many obtain massive injuries, but its one of my bucket list of things to go see

Being legal doesn`t mean it isn`t breathtakingly stupid.

You didn`t realize it was the isle of man until aurburn pointed it out for you, you cannot use new facts to back up your former ignorance, and beside the point, as you noticed in your second watching it is a closed course, so even if new facts back up former fallacies you created a new fallacy that was contradicting some of your new facts. You should become a politician, you already have the bullsh*t scent.

If it was the poster immediately before you, you`re talking at the wrong person.

I used to work in the isle of man at an offshore banking place. I was consulting through the week so I`d fly out from liverpool every monday morning and fly back on friday nights.

I had to stay with someone from work the week of the TT because not only was every hotel room booked up a year in advance but people had even rented out their gardens so people could pitch tents in them. It was hectic. But what a party atmosphere every night when in douglas down on the prom everyone would gather and there`d be riders doing demos and stunts up and down all night. And more than a few naked female riders doing donuts and stuff.

When I stopped that contract working there I always meant to go back for the TT again and never got round to it. Sadly.
