CrakrJak: "Shall I name the numerous examples of the 10 commandments not only on/in our nations capital`s monuments and buildings, but all over our great nation?"

Feel free, but don`t pull and BS and include examples like the Supreme Court where it`s just one of many examples of ancient laws or any places that are not government property.

None of that changes the 1st Amendment anyways: the US government is not constitutionally allowed to endorse any particular religion over any others. End of story.

It`s not possible to remove it from heritage.
If it dies out of culture, it dies naturally.

To have it anywhere near state property is to pay favor to a particular religion and, according to the last census, those people are not "most Americans."

CodeJ: "there should never be any on state property."

Shall I name the numerous examples of the 10 commandments not only on/in our nations capital`s monuments and buildings, but all over our great nation? Do you really want to see all of them "sterilized" of our culture and heritage?

Sorry, but that`s abhorrent to most Americans and it simply won`t be allowed happen.

Im fairly sure they aren`t satanists. Most likely just atheists that enjoy messing with christians (as most satanists i have met seem to indulge in a lot).

They`re going to have to create a lot of space by that building in order to fit several hundred large monuments.

No worse than the statues that you see in other religious establishments.
Oh, and by the way, sack the brickie that built the wall behind the statue. It`s crap.

It has to be a registered religion but,

the temptation is immense...

"What?"
That state elected to allow a religious group to erect a Ten Commandments monument on state property.
So, a number of other religious groups have petitioned to be allowed to erect monuments, also.

The Satanists seem to be the first to have a submission ready. My perception was that Hindu and Buddhist submissions should also be forthcoming.

"...collect the money build it..."
I`m not interested in there being any monuments. I just wanted to know the progress. I think it`s a significant event in history and should be observed.

"...will probably mean the end of xmas decorations..."
Feel free to stuff your shop`s window and we`ll all come to photograph it but, there should never be any on state property.

@CodeJockey collect the money build it and you can put it up. Unless the the ACLU action succeeds. But that would be a shame as it will probably mean the end of xmas decorations around public places in it`s inevitable end... I don`t believe in it but was nice and nostalgic.

"...what seemed like a somewhat lofty goal of $20,000, but by the time donations ended almost $30,000..."
Hmm...
