Saw a turtle a little bigger than this crossing the road last year. It was around 6am so I figured "I`ll get him off the road before traffic starts." He had some mud on his back but I could see orange marks, i said" wow its a huge box turtle." I picked it up just like in the video and started to walk with it.

SNAP! This huge head comes out and halfway down it`s shell and nearly bites off my thumb. It was a big snapping turtle! I dropped him on the road but he started slowly chasing me hissing. What an non-nice individual, I hope he got hit.

It`s not a snapper. It IS a soft shell turtle. Either / Or will rip you a new one. Snappers will remove whatever part of your body you are unlucky enough to get in it`s mouth. A soft shell can reach out a gazillion times it`s body length to bite what ever it can attach to. Either way you lose. All that being said, both types of turtle provide the most yummy eating you can get from the turtle family.

It appeared to be some sort of soft-shelled turtle. A quick Google search revealed an Indian narrow-headed softshell turtle. This particular clip is from River Monsters season 1 episode 2 "Killer Catfish".
