I don`t know why companies don`t have a sense of humor about things. I mean retail companies (especially mega retail companies - I won`t mention which one) hates it when you tell customers that you "stay there just to piss off the management". They tend to like to fire you for that.

Go Figure.

P.S. NEVER sign a form like this. once you do, it can be used against you.
I have seen these used to unfairly dismiss an employee.

Ask for a copy.(unsigned by you)
It will likely be withdrawn so you cant go to your union rep or a lawyer etc. with it.
What a pathetic reason to issue a warning.

Another thing the guys do is call out "Buttscratcher" to each other!

I use to love going to another supervisors section, and setting their guys off singing a song that sits in that supervisors head.

One of the supers hated "Fish Heads", so that was always a favourite.
He would come out an hour later and say "I hate you" laughing.

Factory workers that sing or whistle away while working stay on task longer, and produce more output.
They tend to be less miserable and do a better job.

I encourage it.
The funniest thing I have ever seen is 96 supported employees (intellectually disabled) singing "I`m sexy and I know it".

All us supervisors could barely stand up we were laughing so hard.
"All star" is another good one to get the guys singing.
Don`t play slow music in the factory- the guys will slow down.
get them revved up and output nearly doubles!

unless you work in a morgue or something, why not sing?

@jake_justice: That sounds like a fairly enlightened Boss! The `altered` posters do the same job, and reflect on positive employee input! I`d bet most Bosses would tear them down in disgust! (Which is dumb, IMHO).

@robthelurker: Hey! Girls can sing songs normally sung by men, like The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, eh? Or High School Confidential.

As for the posting SNAFU? I have no clue :-)

People sing at their work because they are happy.
A pay-cut seems to be the obvious requirement here.

if im not allowed to sing at my workplace, we got a big problem. the only time people have complained to me about singing is when i sing songs that are really supposed to be sung by women, like son of a preacher man or then he kissed me. i dont care what the songs are about i like singing them. i wish i could sing let it go, but that song isnt

I worked in a media research company many years ago. One day the boss got the idea of putting up signs that said "Shhh!"

We took one of the signs down and photocopied it, adding a little picture of Elmer Fudd. Then, after "Shhh!" we added "... We`re hunting wabbits." They actually left the signs up like that.

Lolz! I`ve gotten stupider disciplinary letters, idiot bosses generate them by the dozens to make themselves feel important.

This one might have merit though, depends on how loudly he was singing... lolz!

Wow. If someone handed me this piece of paper telling me how to be I`d be inclined to tell them to shove it where the sun don`t shine.
