There is no atheist teaching telling people to go out and kill, so it`s entirely on his shoulders.

About as far from Stephen Fry as one can be, if he thought exactly like him:
A: He would not shot them
B: He would not have a gun in his house to begin with......

There is one post where he likes one video of Fry and that is used in the description line on this submission?

I`m guessing MonkWarrior has issues with outspoken gay atheists from England that are kind and intellectual.

I guess you subtracted Stalin for one from that equation.

LordJim- the point is that we lack the religious Christian nutcase element- but have the equally ignorant Britain First element who couldn`t spell religion if their live depended..

The headline has your back this time. Congratulations, you`re religion has finally been proven righteous!

(These are dark days for those godless heathens.)
Hard to see how a parking row could lead to three being shot- but no matter what the cause it is terrible.
Other people have been killed over disputes between neighbours. Parking, noise, the position of a fence, a tree, all manner of things. It`s hard to see why if you`re thinking rationally and I don`t understand it myself, but it certainly happens.
Why is there not a push to increase psychological services? Why had people rather blame guns, or religion, or in this case, a parking spot dispute?
That doesn`t fit agendas.

"It`s far past time to stop pointing fingers, and start increasing funding for psychological services."

And give those moocher liberals MY TAX DOLLARS! The cost of a bullet fixes the LIBERAL mental health issue!

Hyuk hyuk hyuk. Also pray to Jesus to end abortions because they are murder.

Elk: i have noticed that too. Historically speaking, unbridled hatred has always grown and then *pop*ed. This is why we should all learn control, forgiveness, and to be humble, and meek, and loving towards one another.

The reason his lack of faith was pointed out, was because he was an anti-theist. He hates people based on religion, and is proactive in that hate. He is one of those that wants to see all religion destroyed.

I have warned for years that anti-theism is dangerous.

If you guys want to get serious and look at this how it should be, this man had poor access to mental health, and apparently had mental health problems.

Most of them [those that shoot people] do.

Why is there not a push to increase psychological services? Why had people rather blame guns, or religion, or in this case, a parking spot dispute?

It`s far past time to stop pointing fingers, and start increasing funding for psychological services.

So you`re only allowed to gun down Muslims if you are a Christian? You know one other thing the guy definitely was? A gun owner. The founding fathers would defend this man`s right to defend is parking space for sure!

" obviously here the biggest bigots ARE atheists"

Not sure about what point you are making....

Whether they were killed because they were Muslim, or because of a parking row remains unclear. Hard to see how a parking row could lead to three being shot- but no matter what the cause it is terrible. I would find it being a hate crime easier if the chap was a Christain or another religion, but without knowing him it is hard to say. obviously here the biggest bigots ARE atheists- but there- dunno.

@elkingo: Exactly! :-) (also sarc)

Isn`t it strange though? (serious now) How we are told to "separate Church and State" in one breath, but the next we`re told to "embrace Muslim culture" which includes Islam AS THE STATE.

How people who "support rights for gays and women" embrace the very people who DENY those rights? While at the same time they reject those who protect them? (Israel, most Christians)

Just... odd.

Nows my chance!

Atheism is bad! We should ban all forms of non-belief, the world would be a better place!

So as an unbeliever, can he use Quranic passage (2:190-192) as self defense in court?

Some Background On The Killer

He`s pleading insanity, btw. I don`t buy that for a second though...

But I honestly don`t think the victims` religion was the central cause here. I think the same thing would have happened if they were Jewish, Christian or other. He just hated any religion.

@Wundt: The MSM has a long history of branding EVERY crime as being done by "right wingers" or "Tea Party" or the likes. They`ve been WRONG about it the past... 5 times in a row? 7?

After the true identity and history of the killer becomes known? SUDDENLY religion, politics and such no longer matter! :-P

So here`s an avowed Atheist, left leaning, progressive person killing 3 people in cold blood. Once again the "pundits" threw the Tea Party & conservative labels out before any facts were known, doing the damage of smearing the innocent.

And again: many news outlets aren`t even mentioning his positions NOW. He HATED all religion! It`s not a secret.

This sort of "censored reporting" is what leads to people believing wild un-truths. I object to it strongly! Just report the facts, -all- of them, we can figure out the `spin` for ourselves.

I love how the headline here identifies him as an atheist, but if you read the article is notes that he and the victims had a long standing argument that had nothing to do with religion.

Every day in America, "Self Proclaimed Christians" shoot and kill other people, but the headline doesn`t call out their religion.

I don`t get why people are so obsessed with calling some crimes "hate crimes" and others not.
It`s 3 counts of premeditated 1st degree murder. Are there ANY circumstances where it wouldn`t be a crime of hate?

Grieve for you losses, support the other friends and family, and try to move on. It seems to me that obsessing over the detail of hate crime will only waste time and extend their sorrow. Either way, this guy is going away for good.
