Not sure... is that blasphemy or heresy?

@12chars
I think it`s meant as in "lame duck", not "lame party". Also, Einstein wasn`t English, so the original quote might`ve been in German (just theorising here).

Do You Think The People Who Capitalise All Of Their Words Just Assume That The People Who Don`t Are Just Really Lazy When It Comes To Using The Shift Key?

Somehow I don`t think Einstein would have used the word `lame`.

Listypoos: not trying to quote einsteins views on religion, just what he said about science and religion, "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind", which is correct.

747 Pilot, If you`re going to quote Einstein`s views on religion, why not go with this one?

""The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this."

In another he called all religions childish superstitions. Just because he said things like God doesn`t play dice etc. doesn`t mean he believed in him.

"If you ask any scientist that`s worth a crap, they will tell you that God possibly exists because he can`t be disproved."

The probability that there is a god substantially as envisaged by Christians is under a googolminex. Yet Christians say "Derp, scientists haven`t disproved it." Christians haven`t proved that the Holy Trinity isn`t a collection of polyps in Satan`s rectum. If you have to prove something that doesn`t jive with all of the science in the world, you`d better bring something better than the most infinitesimally small probability that you`re not wrong.

@Sprinx - Damn, dude...well worded. I so often feel bad for religious people; it seems to me that they are totally missing how awesome life and the universe are. No, we were (almost definitely) not created by a God, and that is awesome. We weren`t put here, we developed through awesome, complex, beautiful scientific actions and movements, brought on by the mysterious forces of science, which we still don`t fully understand. We are all made of enriched star guts, as Neil DeGrasse Tyson says. Anyone who wants to throw away these amazing and beautiful facts, and instead believe some dude just wanted the world to be here and put it here, is missing what I truly think is the most awe-inspiring part of life. Their beliefs are simply ignorant of amazing facts, but I can`t help but just feel sorry for `believers.` Anyway, sorry for ranting - I haven`t logged in in at least 6 months, but this? This is an important topic.

"If you ask any scientist that`s worth a crap, they will tell you that God possibly exists because he can`t be disproved. "

As well as, leprechauns, invisible pink unicorns, monsters that disappear when you try to look at them, and the fact that the universe was just created right now and everything before that was an implanted memory...oh wait...that`s retarded. God is not a worthy answer to the universe. In fact, your God is very small compared to how I see the universe. He`s nothing but an anthropomorphized insult to the universe itself.

science and religion, unique tools for unique jobs; both very beneficial. one to help us understand the natural, and the other help us understand the supernatural.

Instead of being parrots, research on your own about science and that they admittedly don`t understand singularity and most things taken as "unproven" scientific fact.
Agreeing with someone smart doesn`t inherently make you smart. Most don`t understand that.

Well it must be true if Einstein said it!
Just because some smart people had a brain defect as well, doesn`t mean you can use it as an argument.

"Not sure... is that blasphemy or heresy?"

Examples to clear things up for you:

Jesus can go suck my meat popsicle = Blasphemy

According to Testament III (the new New Testament and only truly enlightened word of God), Jesus sucked my meat popsicle = Heresy
