You will be judged, for something. Marilyn was an actress and I reckon a very funny one. So what if Audrey Hepburn did other stuff- very commendable- but not everyone can do heroic things (and a lot of what is listed isn`t rally heroic stuff) - we are all flawed in some way- and most of us are mediocre humans at best- so how about we stop having character Olympics and try not to be so judgemental in ALL areas. The beautiful can`t help how they look- but perhaps the kind cannot help it either....or the clever. We are all what we are and do the best that we can...

Not messed up. A LOT of people worship Audrey Hepburn. She was awesome.

The reason Marilyn Monroe is worshiped is because she was so sexy. I saw a YouTube video showing how she could make a yawn sexy. Part of that sex appeal was dying young before she got old and nasty.

Audrey Hepburn is worshiped for being smart and talented. Marilyn was almost like a prostitute, using sex for profit. I think we all admire Audrey because she was great, but men want to drat Marilyn and women want to be sexy like her.

I`d drat Marilyn but I`d marry Audrey.

While I agree that people will judge people, I disagree with you concerning Marilyn Monroe; She was merely pretty after: several plastic surgery procedures, with a boatload of make up and in the right lighting. She also couldn`t act.
Audrey Hepburn on the other hand- if you do some google image searches- was beautiful without make up and turned in some fine performances. Nothing was said in the post about heroism, though her actions during the war, and her actions while traveling to poo hole nations, risking her safety and her health pretty much falls into that category as well.
Monroe committed suicide rather than face her own demons.
    Just me, being judgmental.

I thought everyone agreed, Hepburn was prettier than Monroe. Monroe, isn`t valued for her beauty. She is valued for her batpoo sluttiness. Hepburn is a girl you want to marry. Monroe is a girl you want to drat.

    Right in the center!

Besides, Audrey started her carier on account of her beauty, not the education she recieved as a rich person.

Merilyn was poor, working class girl - not undeucated by chice - as stated.

This new, shallow, judgmental, internet mega-coniuosness is the worst.

who cares? they were both hot. now they are both dead.

why are we concerning ourselves with dead people when we still haven`t found a way to give a rats ass about the living ones?

Because no matter how civilized we tell everyone we are, sex comes first. That`s why people idolize the dumbshyte slutty girls. (and they`re not necessarily THAT beautiful, just slutty)

    My ex girlfriend idolized Marilyn.
    Looks came second.
She sees her as many other girls currently do; a figure of "female independence"
Where as to I see a shallow actress (before we were born) flaunting her stuff to the top in a past tense- terribly overly viewed stereotypical manner, used to vindicate males in today`s generation. Monroe was a slut and women are generally today sluts, innocent fearful excuses aside

hold on, didn`t monroe have like a 160 IQ? Choosing to be an actress, being naturally attractive and then getting `murdered` (supposedly) for political connections does not make her worthless. Stupid person who knocked this image up should have used someone slightly more vapid to use as a comparison.

Surely that makes it worse that she chose to remain ill-educated, and play the dumb blonde on and off screen. In any case that is not the point being made. The point is society`s response to the great and beautiful Ms Hepburn and the apparently drugged up slapper who was quite good-looking, Monroe. Something that few people in society know, that made no visible difference to her character, does not change the fact that veneration of Monroe is rather pathetic.

Conspiracy theories are not positive points on society.

If you`re looking for a beautiful Hollywood actress to admire, might I suggest Hedy Lamarr .

I find her accomplishments, for a woman of her day, to be nothing short of outstanding.

You only have to look at social media or Reality TV to see that society is being dumbed down by the day. Get naked on either and you become a "star". Go figure.

Why poo on people you don`t know? It`s not like she committed murder. The problem with pictures and sentiments like this is that it further perpetuates the thought process that we should be emulating famous people in any way. You should find out your morality by paying attention to cause and effect, not because celebrities do whatever they do.

This is very disappointing on so many levels. Why are we comparing them ?Audrey Hepburn was adored for both her extraordinary beauty and her good deeds as was Marilyn Monroe .Portraying Marilyn as some worthless drug addled parasite this way is wrong as she donated significant amounts of her meager earnings to charities for children her entire life including numerous orphanages and WAIF (an organisation which rescued abandoned children)and performed for benefits to raise money to help others without taking a single cent.

Portraying Monroe as uneducated is unfair as Audrey Hepburns family valued education and ensured that Audrey had opportunities that Marilyn Monroe did not. Marilynsfirst husband Dougherty compelled Monroe to quit high school but Marilyn constantly aspired to educate herself in dire circumstances.

Both women had terrible childhoods but led very different lives and should not be judged and compared in such an ignorant way. They each had different gifts

I doubt that is even true. Audrey Hepburn is still considered by many to be a remarkable combination of beauty, style, character and courage.

Monroe did the best she could with the hand she was dealt.

Society isn`t messed up so much. People who think these two women are in any way analogous, then stupidly use that imaginary analogy to make a ridiculous point, are.
