@turdburglar You`re slandering an entire continent. If you have to lower yourself to casting aspersions on my hygiene to feel superior to me, it doesn`t say much in the way of you having strength of feeling regarding your point of view. And again, it`s not a fair comparison. You need to compare one state versus one state. The European Union has 28 states alone.

You`re really not aware that you`re doing exactly what you`re complaining about, are you?

Why don`t all you braindead nationalist(*) bigots drat off somewhere and leave civilised people alone? Go build an island in the Atlantic and scream at each other on it, or something.

* You think it`s a nation, even though it so obviously isn`t, so your irrational prejudice is nationalism.
If you think the government is so bad, you basically have to leave, as guns will never protect you from the government.
They can in extreme circumstances.

You`re very likely to be left with a civil war and a ruined country, but it can be made to work.

The USA started off with a combo civil war and coup with a side order of independence and after enough assault, robbery, deportation and murder to get rid of the losers in the civil war side of it and seize their assets, they made it work.

But that was when civilians had the same weapons as the government. Nowadays, it probably wouldn`t turn out as well for the civilians. You`d need a suddenly extremely vile government to provoke widespread revolt by people who know many of them will die or a prior collapse of the USA`s economy so that its people have much less to lose. Or both.

But it`s a possibility.

Oops. I DID call Europe a country. Shame on me. I failed to proofread. Still my lack if proofreading doesn`t undo Europe`s centuries-long bloodlust. But, if it makes Europeans happy, you can blame the millions of murders on my typing. You are right. I`m wrong.

I wes even nice enough not to mention Vlad Tepes, the Hellish disease-ridden nightmare of Cortez, Attila the Hun, Leopold II (who made American slavery pretty tame).

Even if you leave your psychotic leaders out of the mix, Europe has still had its share of ethnic cleansing events in recent history. The 1993 Georgia conflict comes to mind. It would take Chicago, a city famous for gun violence, two decades to equal that one event.

That`s OK, I`ll just refer to Europe as a city and you folks from Europe can call me stupid and just erase all that violence and blame it on me.

Now you know it isn`t all Americans that are stupid, it is just one guy... me.

spudman - I think it`s a completely fair comparison, especially given the the comment it was responding to.
There is no two ways about it, you euros are an arrogant bunch. You feel free to constantly post and add anti-American comments, but nearly every euro IABer throws a fit when your side of the cesspool is criticized.

The comment was SPECIFICALLY about death, government, and war. europe as a whole has no room to criticize in that department.

As for the lumping together of europe on IAB, personally I don`t mind. I get that there are different peoples in different places of europe, but that is no different than America. It`s a big place with different peoples in different areas (just like europe).
P.S. Please take a shower and then update your profile pic. I feel dirty just typing to you.

I think it`s time that we get to see the specific countries instead of the general "Europe" label.

@turdburglar Hardly a fair comparison. Let`s compare Europe and American since they`ve both been one country under one sovereignty each. As for Popcap, he seems to genuinely think that Europe is a country "I understand the desire to defend Europe, your home country,".

Then you shot him??

Demonstration of ignorance of history duly noted.

Reignblazer-
less than 500 years old to a continent that is several thousands years old
Excuse me, but why would you argue comparing `500 years vs. 1000`s of years` when every single dictator and murderer that he mentioned took place within the last 125 years?

As both the US and Europe were establish prior to the earliest he mentioned, it`s a viable comparison.

reignblazer - PopCap specifically said "Since the birth of the USA, Europe has had..."
Read the comments your complaining about before you call him a dumass.

And yes, in that time there has been much much much more murder over there. WW1 and WW2? Ring a bell.

Lol @ popcap.

Let`s compare a country that is less than 500 years old to a continent that is several thousands years old and then say they have commited more murder over more time. Dumbass.

@den3jlb

Why is it laughable and ignorant? Because more horror and death has birthed out of Europe than all other continents combined? Feel free to deny it.

I didn`t describe any of those dictators. History did. Feel free to glamorize their deeds. I can`t stop you.

I didn`t say that our government has never attacked us. That`s what the police do. I`m saying that the US has not had slaughter of citizens anywhere near the scale of Europe. Feel free to deny that, too.

I understand the desire to defend Europe, your home country, but damn, dude, read a history book. Europe is Ground Zero for the douchebag bomb.

Your grouping of Europeans as one nation is laughable and ignorant.

Your description of those dictators is laughable and ignorant.

Your belief that your own government isn`t our hasn`t attacked their own people is just naive.

The police are evil?

Who`s the first person he calls when something gets stolen or someone enters his property? Would he be better off in a non-police state?

There are things Europeans ignore about America.

1. America was built on European occupation. If Americans are evil, it`s the evil culture brought over from Europe. Consider that the Native Americans weren`t killed by "Americans", they were killed by Europeans.

2. The police believe that US citizens are enemies of war. Some of that is from hiring military personnel as police officers but, largely, it comes from personal power lust.

3. Our politicians are not always smart people and our laws can be unfair. Unlike some European countries, when our leaders unzip their pants, Americans don`t just drop to their knees.

4. Since the birth of the USA, Europe has had Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Francisco Franco, Leonid Brezhnev, Enver Pasha and, of course, Adolf Hitler. Just to name a few. The US government has not attacked its own people like that ever. Because we have guns.

So, Europe, stop with the self-righteousness.

@gymcoach England does not equal Europe. You`d do well to remember this. If you say Europe but mean solely the countries with strict gun control then I think the error lies with you.

Bet a few heads exploded on that one.

When the $#!+ hits the fan, we won`t be fighting against the military; they`ll be on our side. It`s the cops we have to worry about. Fortunately, we have them outnumbered AND outgunned by at least 100:1

"If you think the government is so bad, you basically have to leave, as guns will never protect you from the government."

Remember the revolutionary war? The one where Americans drove out the British army and started a new, more awesome country.
They did that with guns not polite talk.

Spudman instead of trying to belittle me for you lack of comprehensions of what I wrote, (I was referring in general to those European countries with strict gun laws i.e England.). You should perhaps concentrate on your own generalizations

The whole video is worth the watch, but the scary stuff is about 4:22 on.

Cop can`t wait to kick citizen`s door in to confiscate his guns.

He`s not advocating shooting the police to get out of a traffic ticket; only a moron would think that. What he is saying is that we need to be armed in the event the police are ever used against the people in support of tyranny. In other words, the government decides to just toss aside the Constitution and passes laws that violate all of our protected rights, then orders the police to enforce those laws and arrest or shoot anyone who resists. Ice-T is saying that is when we need to fight back and defend our liberties, just like our forefathers did. He is NOT saying we should just start shooting the police when they try to enforce just, Constitutional laws.

I`m staying out of this pointless argument but I do want to point out that you have to seriously doubt the wisdom of people attempting to use gansta rappers to argue AGAINST gun control.

Oh great, when the cop pulls you over for a ticket.. SHOOT HIM!

Yeah, that`s a good idea. When is it EVER a good idea to shoot a cop? You CANNOT win that fight ever. Even if you shoot him you will be hunted down. You cannot protect yourself from the government. They have more guns than YOU do (i know gun nuts love to say they have more guns than the cops, but the cops come for YOU alone)

If you think the government is so bad, you basically have to leave, as guns will never protect you from the government.

Ice ain`t fooling!

Why the heck do you think Obama has such a hard on to confiscate arms from legal US citizens. It is because if he goes too far, we will revolt, and that just sits in his craw like a suck piece of corn.

@turdburglar Or maybe try and make the police nice pleasant people that won`t abuse the fact they have a better armoury than the standard civilian. I don`t feel the need to invest in choppers and stingers and (if I hope if I lived in the States) Remingtons just because the police have them.

@gymcoach If you`d actually bothered to read the comments, you`d have noticed that a fellow American has pointed out that there are countries in Europe with guns. It`s fair enough if an American doesn`t want to be lectured on why the way they do things is "wrong" by someone far away, but if you utterly fail to understand the breadth and depth of those people far away and whine using emotion and erroneous information, then you`re actually doing the people who support your view a disservice. Simply put, your bad argument is making the opposition seem stronger. Learn from Andrew155.

Here is an idea, if you are in Europe, from Europe or believe Europe is better because it has no guns, DON`T dratING CHIME IN. We dont care about your stupid ass opinions. We have guns, you don`t, you have no place to say what we should or should not do in America unless you want to be an American which means assimilating to our culture as I would yours if I chose to live there.

Europeans like to say things like:
"If your 2nd amendment is to protect against govt. tyranny, then what good will a gun do against tanks and bombs?"

If/when the government becomes oppressive, the boys in blue will be the ones to watch out for.

Citizens should have access to the same level of firepower as the local police.

Ilikelogic - you`re being weird, and that`s not even true. Since when is America the only country that doesn`t have guns.

Example. Finland. 45 guns per 100 people. Hell, even the rest of Scandinavia has over 30 guns per 100 people. Iceland has 100,000 guns for 300,000 people. The European country with the least amount of guns - Romania. Go figure.

Basically: Tyranny is a thing. It doesn`t have to exist now, but it will exist in the future. Stop being a whine-tastic wombat.
