I swear turtledove is high when he comes up with his book ideas. Hey man, what if like, apartheid travels back to the civil war and gives m16s to the south?

There is an interesting book series by Harry Turtledove about alien lizard people that come to invade Earth. We turn out to be the first warm-blooded race they had encountered. Their spy probes found us during the dark ages, but by the time they get here, it`s the middle of WWII. Fun books.

It is possible that there are some Hispanic IABers who might enjoy a short film of a classic story and would enjoy it in their native language. NOT ALL IAB have english as their Main language

Stupidest thing I`ve read on IAB. You should post this on LL for the rest of the non-English-speaking mouth-breathers.

Ray Bradbury`s "The Cement Mixer" was a great short Story (Martian Chronicles) about an Invasion that was defeated by Human Kindness without a shot fired. Killed by the Humans "Glad Hand"

There was a story I read a long time ago about Humans visited a planet whose life forms were all blind with a interlinked hive mind and tries to assimulate the earth as an act of kindness.

The reason the primate`s light sensitive Pineal gland has not developed into a fully functional eye is still up for discussion, whereas in more advanced life forms of certain shrimp, crustacean and mollusk, this gland has fully developed providing better light absorption and better spatial differentiation

Danger - Human! A short story by Gordon R Dickson.
Essentially: All intelligent life in the Galaxy avoids Earth because of an ancient sign which reads: Danger! Human! Excellent story!

There`s been lots of short stories where humans turn out to be more dangerous than the `alien invaders` expected :-)

And we have only two eyes cause we don`t need any more of those easily infected, very fragile sacks of liquid and those two we need, are close to brain and quite well protected. There are good arguments that we are going to get wider and larger eyes in the long run, don`t know about that...

ZigRat: physics. Two of each on our sides balances each other perfectly. Two eyes have depth perception, two ears can decode direction and distance from sound. And last but not least: cell division and symmetry, which is more a geometry thing. When cells divide in two from the get go, that kind of makes even number shapes more common.

And why is everything about humans seems to be in twos, they have 2 legs, 2 arms and only 2 eyes?

I still can`t get over the fact that humans actually have hard calcified bones. WEIRD!

This remembers me of a sci-fi story about humans on a strange planet. Their search with spotlights killed the light sensitive inhabitants...
Can`t remember the author or the title.

"I want to see a sci/fi universe where we`re actually considered one of the more hideous and terrifying species." and my response to that is "There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man`s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone."
