Link: Man Gets Probation For Raping His Daughter - Judge rationalizes decision by claiming the wealthy heir ``will not fare well`` in prison. Affluenza strikes again.

republicans? democrats? White? Black? Brown? Gay? Straight?

    NONE OF THESE MATTER.

You are rich or not. Until people realize this, the rich will continue to get away with raping 3 year olds.

despicable. everyone involved in this case is despicable, from the filth that abused two of his own tiny children to the judge who let him go free.

what kind of message did the system send to those two kids? besides they were not important, and money can get you out of any trouble you may land in.

While I don`t agree with the decision, I agree the judge is right!

Paedophiles and people that hurt children are the lowest of the low in prison and many don`t make it out alive! - so he probably wouldn`t fare well in prison.

    ...which is good :)

All prison sentences should be rehabilitative instead of punishing, put any man through hell and he`ll come out worse.

HEY, HEY, HEY!!! Everybody calm down!
That man is a "job creator", so he`s allowed to do whatever he damn well pleases. If we punish him for his actions, it might hurt the economy. You people clearly haven`t been reading your Ayn Rand.

Put a man in prison he comes out commits more crimes, more harm to society, more harm to children. Put him through mandated treatment for his drug addiction drated up idea of what`s appropriate with children and then they`re less likely to reoffend less harm to future society

`All prison sentences should be rehabilitative instead of punishing, put any man through hell and he`ll come out worse.`

A reasonable sentiment, but in practice it only seems to apply to the rich.

I doubt the judge was actually paid off in a crude, brown envelope full of cash way, but this perv is a member of the club of rich and powerful. She cuts him a lot of slack and somewhere down the line there will be a quid pro quo involved.

Actually, it`s not just rich people that often get off. There are plenty of run-of-the-mill rapists and child predators that get off pretty easy here, like that one teacher in Montana that got 30 days for raping a teenager.

Tiredofnicks - then why put them in jail at all? Why not just make them take night classes on how not to rape?

    @Mr Pedo Bear,
Put a violent offender in prison and it protects the next person/people he would have attacked. Giving that offender appropriate rehabilitative treatment/education/job training while there protects (we hope) those who would have been attacked later. But get him/her the hell out of society, NOW, because he is currently a threat to society.

I agree, Broizfam. I think child predators are an example of people who really can`t be rehabilitated.

I think the idea of trying to reprogram a pedophile is akin to reprograming a gay man to like women, or even a straight man to like men. It`s not going to work. It`s hardwired - if not from birth, some point during development it went horribly wrong.

Ass rape the judge with a 2x4, then mention you don`t feel you`d do well in prison- see how that sits.

I can`t think of too many people that would fare well in prison. Isn`t that kind of the point?

@Andrew is correct. You can`t cure a pedophile. I remember, years ago, some news show did an interview with a man who was serving time in prison for child molestation, and he admitted as much. He stated that any pedophile who is honest with themselves would say the same. You could, I suppose, rehabilitate them to not act on their thoughts, but you can`t cure them of the thoughts themselves. They could never be trusted alone with a child, because you never know when their judgement would lapse.

This guy needs prison time. He is a garden variety child molester. I work in a state prison and do sex offender therapy. Our work is totally professional. I don`t see any reason for him not to be in general population. There are special needs housing units if he has serious mental health concerns. Prison is supposed to induce a mild state of depression. If is not supposed to be fun. Also, castration doesn`t work. A high percentage of sex offenders do not re-offend if given good treatment, particularly those who have offended against family members.

Mento.. I dont know what country you`re in or what planet you`re from... but pedophiles CANNOT be treated OR cured. They`re not "innocent victims that grew up in dysfunctional homes so they just need some TLC", wah wah wah.. They are predators and don`t care about laws or the innocent life they`re destroying... PERIOD.
