Drac makes a point. There are a lot of bands doing these modern folk-rock versions of old bagpipe tunes and they often just keep repeat the melody. There`s a reason for this. These were originally dance tunes, not compositions meant for listening. Musicians would have to play the melody over and over and over until either the dance was over or people got tired of dancing.

For this music to work as listening music, other things have to happen -- improvs on the melody, rhythmic changes, etc. That`s the beauty of a band like Fairport Convention. They would play old English/Irish dance tunes, but there was always something amazing happening underneath the melody.

Still, this does have a nice sound.

I see a hari krishna, a pagan, a satanist etc. The music starts off well, but never develops. It could also use some vocals. Overall 2/4
