Contrary to what you may have seen on TV & in various Liam Neeson movies, these myths could be the cause of your demise

I agree with most of these comments, except the shelter thing is obviously not aimed at people in hot climates. I bet the original army reel would have been more enlightening.

You know Jake, I never did get that in the movie. If they have the technology to remove impurities from urine leaving basically... well, water, then why couldn`t they build one to filter the water they lived on?

I mean... it is a water WORLD, right? Did I miss something?

Aren`t many of these common sense? Besides, anyone who has ever been in the military can tell you about the hydration and shelter priorities. And only people who watch Bear Gryll`s think drinking your own urine will save you from dehydration (it might save your ass temporarily in a pinch - but it won`t do jack for heat stroke).

That`s why the cautious adventurer never travels without his patented "Kevin Costner Waterworld Urine Filter" ...

It`s 0.8 miles to my local pub. I think I`ll last out.

From someone who was in a survival situation (and now does occasional I nearly died shows on tv ;) )

The water one should be clearer. If you`re having to fill up on water and leave the water source. If you down as much water as you can when you`re there. You can flush your system of essential salts etc. So drink as much as you need, but don`t drink as much as you can which was a mistake i made.
