You know... in case you"re kidnapped... or tied up for some reason that we, the general public, don"t want to know about

@Agent00Smith - Good one, I bet it took all day for you to think of that. Don`t strain yourself, you might get a headache from all that thinking.

"heavy duty terrorist ties" are what terrorists use against people they claim are terrorists.

`Subconsciously, the kidnapper will accept your offer...`

Oh, well. No worries then.

But it is reasonably easy to bring your hands in front if they are tied at the wrist. A bit of wriggling, and a bastard if you are wearing a think coat but not too difficult.

All obvious silliness aside, these "tactics" are for what I assume would be a kidnapping or house invasion scenario, but even then I doubt they`d let you have your hands tied in the front UNLESS you include the ability (for some) to shimmy their hands under their bum and around their legs.

or the bastard is double jointed and you are about to get stabbed.

1) Nope, you specifically look for that tactic when you`re using zip ties on a prisoner.

2) We used heavy duty terrorist ties, they can`t be easily broken. Also, you always tie them with their hands behind their back and laugh at them if they offer their hands to be tied in front.

3) Maybe, but you`d obviously need the help of another person, especially if your hands are tied behind your back.

"step one can be adapted for behind the back too"

Not if the person cuffing you has any idea at all what they`re doing. :-)

That`s why cops always zip cuff your hands behind your back. Only an idiot or an amateur would zip cuff you in front (and fall for the old side-by-side clenched fist ploy).

Doubt these tips would be very useful in most real situations, Especially not if you`re cuffed by the police.

Whenever you are going to be bound, whether handcuffs of zip-ties, visibly offer your hands in front of you. A captor would much rather take someone who`s hands are in front because they are easier to move (hands in back means you have to be helped in and out of cars, trucks, helped to pee, makes you basically unable to do anything). Subconsciously, the kidnapper will accept your offer because he doesn`t want the hassle of carrying you around with your hands tied (or cuffed) behind your back. If you do let then cuff your hands behind your back, you`re as good as dead.
