No freaking way rope, regardless of what it is made from, remained intact for 5000 years in the open air of the tomb. [/quote]

Well, the tomb was hermetically sealed.

My roomie had a boyfriend in her teens, the son of German parents that said they "escaped Germany" after the war and came to Canada. I met the dad once and thought he was a jerk. A year or two, I found him listed online in the ranks of those SS types in the last photo. "Escaping" suddenly made sense.

Not bad but a couple of "incorrect" photos there. The one of Custer and crew has been altered, it would not have been in color at that time. Some people were dabbling in color photographs that early, but the color didn`t last and those photos took hours to days to develop. The Walton`s 5 & 10 wasn`t really the first Wal-Mart. It was owned by the same person but it`s a different name and a lot different than the first actual Wal-Mart store.

First Wal-Mart

impressive ...

lol, hitler got no tache yet, but the same hairstyle. some things don`t change.

the samurai picture is kind of funny: guys look so tough, but in reality the samurais were reduced to a class lowly paid bureaucrats by the 19th century.

Great photos. Carter was ahead of his time when it came to photo-ops and working the media.

Thanks, kitteh. These ARE amazing.

Nice clear details in the Civil War photo. The samurai photo is interesting, as is the seal on Tut`s tomb.
