When someone gets upset when someone points out they`re a tax-payer...that someone is already an a55hole.

Mitt Romney paid more than Obama, if I remember correctly.

But it`s mostly because his income is from capital gains, which IS different if you know anything about economics.

And before you revolt against that notion, The Netherlands, which is supposedly Socialist, as zero capital gains tax. Mitt Romney would be paying very low taxes there, by that measure.

Well, seeing as he paid more in taxes than me & my wife make annually, you`d be wrong.

Last released year (2010), Romney paid:
    ~$3,000,000 in federal taxes.
    ~$3,500,000 in charitable contributions.

Now, granted, the percentage he paid was lower than mine, but then all of my taxes were for income, whereas a good portion of his came from profits (which are taxed differently than income), diviidends (which are taxed differently than income) or interest from investments (which are taxed differently than income).

    But I`m sure you`ll say he`s not paying `his fair share`.

MeG, Mormans have to give proof they tithed. Those charity contributions are just his church getting their extortion money to stay out of hell.

If the tithe is 10% and it`s more than his taxes, Romney paid less than 10% in tax. I pay 25%. That`s why I`m a flat taxer. It`s fair to all because everyone pays the same percentage. Instead of rich people getting loop holes to get out of paying tax. Hell, they can afford it and still be rich.

According to records he pays ~15.4%.

    Gerry1of1-That`s why I`m a flat taxer.
    I`m for flat tax, also.

But, the debate is still out if interest income and stock dividends would count as `income`. (after all, dividends are paid from profit, which has usually already been taxed).

    TheZigRat-I was talking percentage
It may have been what you MEANT, but it is not what you SAID. I even quoted you for clarity.

    Specifics, Bob.

How should grown men dress, Kangaroo? Suits all day? Or slacks and, what, polo shirts? People can wear whatever is comfortable. He`s a comedian, not a stock broker.

There really should be no debate about taxes. at least from a public point of view. There should be a fair tax and get rid of the IRS. The fat cats in Washington have gotten rich enough. It is about time we cut them off.

Taxes, in America, have gotten away from being about generating revenue for the government, and more about redistributing wealth. This is not good.
