Maybe if the GOP changed their party`s color from red to something else they wouldn`t be so irrationally angry ALL THE TIME. Food for thought.

This is the kind of sh*t that makes me laugh. Every single first lady had some kind of cause they promoted (Rosalyn Carter = Mental Health, Nancy Reagan = Just Say No To Drugs, Laura Bush = Literacy) and no one felt the need to attack them. This is proof that these people are just so full of hate they`ll attack over anything, regardless of if it`s a good thing or not. I remember when she suggested people drink more water, maybe skip that extra soda or whatever, and they went apesh*t over that too.

"no one felt the need to attack them"

Right? I couldn`t stand Bush`s policies but I never had anything unpleasant to say about his wife. She seemed like an absolutely lovely lady and she did some good stuff.

This outpouring of hate is just another thing that convinces me that a decent percentage of Obama hate is racism. I can`t think of any other reason that someone would say "the image of michele would make me lose my appetite".

paddy - yep, political parties function like teams. It`s not even about issues. It`s why we should`ve listened to George Washington.

lauriloo - being "angry" isn`t really something confined to one group of people. Tolerant people like you should know that.

whodat - if Facebook were around in the 70s and 80s, I`m sure we`d see the same stuff. The more things change, the more you realize they`re the same.

HolyGod, there is something wrong with you. People hated Laura Bush, you clearly have no memory of the last decade. People hated Bush so much they think he flew planes into buildings in the most convoluted plot ever. That absolutely extended to his wife.

I`m going to give you an example.

Here`s the guy is calling Laura Bush a C. One of his earlier tweets is "Michelle and Hillary, true first ladies".

So once again, you`re just making stuff up.

"there is something wrong with you"

There`s clearly something wrong with you, or at least your reading comprehension.

I said "I never had anything unpleasant to say about his wife." I. The word is "I". So unless you think I`m the a.sshole that wrote that tweet I fail to see your point.

You will always be able to find some people that hate a famous person no matter who they are. However, please find me an example of an overwhelming backlash against Laura Bush like what is shown on subway`s facebook page, not just one tweet from one a.sshole.

NOBODY thinks bush planned 9/11. If bush would have planned 9/11 the planes would have ended up attacking kansas city.

The reason some conservatives oppose MO`s "Health Initiative" is that she is not "encouraging" kids to eat better; she is using the coercive power of the federal government to FORCE kids to eat what SHE thinks is good for them through the school lunch program. The kids HATE the crap the schools are serving them to appease MO. The result is that many schools now have active black markets in candy and chips.

always amazes me how much money people spend buying preprepared food. what happened to making a lunchbox. Suggestion- shut `em all down- the whole lot- get rid of take away food and fast food completely- while you are at it ban processed preprepared food too. Now THAT is heavy handed- but it might well work. Would give people something to winge about too...

she is using the coercive power of the federal government to FORCE kids to eat what SHE thinks is good for them through the school lunch program
Huh? If by "what SHE thinks" you mean the first update to the program in the last 15 years, to "increase the availability of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free and low-fat fluid milk in school meals; reduce the levels of sodium, saturated fat and trans fat in meals" as set by the USDA (Not Obama) then I would just have to ask these conservatives what they think a healthy lunch is.

The kids HATE the crap the schools are serving them
You`re right, kids should never be forced to do something they don`t like doing. What a horrible thing to suggest!

"FORCE kids to eat what SHE thinks is good for them through the school lunch program. The kids HATE the crap the schools are serving them="

Yes. She personally chooses the meals moron.

What is wrong with kids eating healthy? Or at least getting ONE healthy meal a day while their irresponsible fat f*ck parents give them lucky charms for breakfast and mcdonalds for dinner every day?

I ate lunch at my kid`s school recently. It was grilled chicken with shredded white cheese on corn tortillas, fresh salsa, fresh fruit salad, rice, and a salad bar. God that sounds disgusting.

When I was in school lunchs were always things like sloppy joes, cheeseborgers, chicken nuggets and pizza. I`m THRILLED that my kids get a healthy lunch now. Who isn`t?

What unhealthy fat parents are mad that they can`t have unhealthy fat kids? pack their lunch if you want. Nobody forces kids to have school lunch.

There are lots of reasons to not like the president. I can list dozens and dozens. I can`t think of many to not like the first lady. So to say that her image disgusts you to the point of losing your appetite, what else could it be?

Are we pretending there is NO racism in this country? Because I see it all over that post.

By all means criticize the president, criticize his actions, his policies. That is completely justified and encouraged, but the rabid uncontrolled hate comes from somewhere else.

No, it was people on the post.

Look, there is a huge amount of racism in this country still. Would you agree? Obviously if you are a racist you are going to hate a black president no matter WHAT he does.

That DOESN`T mean everyone who dislikes obama is a racist, of COURSE. But to not admit the obvious, sad fact that SOME of it is the root cause just seems silly.

There is nothing wrong with eating healthy, however, there is something seriously wrong with forcing it onto people. Similarily, there is nothing wrong with a First Lady pushing something she believes in. There is something seriously wrong with forcing that agenda on people and using it seemingly solely for political means.

Who is it being forced on?

    1. It is CHILDREN. Children have things forced on them all the time, like school.

    2. They AREN`T being forced to eat it. If my kids don`t want the scheduled school lunch, I pack their lunch.

I would like you to go to any message board or comments section. It`s always full of angry people, and it really doesn`t matter what ideology they are, because the idea they are concentrated in only one ideology is bizarre.

I`ll entertain you with an example. It`s January-April 2008, Hillary and Obama are fighting it out. I still considered myself a Democrat. There was so much anger on the internet from the supporters of Hillary and the supporters of Obama. It was actually a debilitating amount of anger that was emanating from these supporters.

And in addition, there`s the entire 2000s that can be used as an example, you also seem to have massive amnesia of the previous decade, like HolyGod.

When I was young, I didn`t have much in common with the leftists, but at least I could respect them. They actually stood up and opposed the government when it tried to boss them around. Their shouts were, "Fight the power!" Hell no, we won`t go! and "Stick it to the man!"

On the other hand, you pathetic lefties today are like a flock of castrated sheep. You take whatever crap the government dishes out and then fall to your knees and cry, "Thank you, sir. May I please have another? I`ll eat whatever you allow me to eat. I`ll drive whatever you allow me to drive. I`ll use whatever kind of light bulb you allow me to buy."

    You truly disgust me.

""I`ll use whatever kind of light bulb you allow me to buy"

You have a problem with this country switching from incandescent to compact fluorescent and LED?

"if every U.S. household replaced just one regular incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb, it would prevent 90 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions from power plants, the equivalent of taking 7.5 million cars off the road. And the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says that by replacing regular light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs at the same minimal rate, Americans would save enough energy to light more than 2.5 million homes for a year."

That is bad because WHY? Why b.itch about that? There are so many worthy things to bitch about. Is light bulbs really one of them?
