    You don`t get it?
Take some drugs and you will.
If memory serves, I usually enjoyed "The Midnight Special" with a couple Ludes, some Black Beauties and a couple Cross Tops to keep me awake.

Trust me, the more drugs you take the better this sounds.

A great band! I remember this one on the radio, along with their song "Sylvia." The album version is slower, but back then speed was the thing... I think `ludes would take you in the wrong direction.

Thanks, McG. That was totally awesome. Even so, that is my LEAST favorite cut from the album Moving Waves.

It`s sad to hear this incredible band described as a "one-hit wonder" or even as "the best one-hit wonder." They always were an album-oriented band. They recorded this song as a joke, and it just happened to catch on. The rest of their music is truly stupendous.

I saw Focus in 1973, can`t remember if it was Guildford civic hall or Bracknell sports centre, things were a bit hazy in those days!

Had the pleasure of seeing focus in NYC in `74. The reason we actually went was the opening band -- Gentle Giant. What a night. Both bands were great. If you think those gifs are something, you should see Van Leer`s sweaty, grimacing mug from 4th row-center.

It was a double-bill that made sense, unlike another one I saw also in `74 -- Golden Earring opening for King Crimson at Central Park. We were there for Crimson. Golden Earring played a good set, but it was a Crimson crowd all the way.
