What a shock, cops acting like arrogant asswipes. That only happens on days ending in Y.

there was nothing wrong here. the cops made a simple mistake and didnt charge him with anything, im amazed the guy is complaining at all. a few scarps on his car from dogs is nothing, detaining him for a few hours is nothing, and yanking him out of his car and yelling at him because he was a suspected drug dealer is nothing. if he had been a drug dealer, this would have been a text book drug bust, and i definitely think that viewed from afar giving a homeless man change can be seen as a drug deal. i think they had reasonable probable cause, but the cops still drated up. however the important thing is that first he was not charged, and second there was no major physical harm/damage done to him or his possessions. the cops wasted their own time as well as his. believe me i have reason to hate cops more than most, its just i dont think this guy really has all that much to complain about.

    Dear robthelurker,

I can appreciate your point of view but please allow me to throw my hat in the ring here.

"a few scarps on his car from dogs is nothing"
I couldn`t disagree with you more about that. Both scrapes (and scarps) are property damage and need to be taken care of by the police for their screw up. Their fault for being in the wrong.

"the important thing is that first he was not charged, and second there was no major physical harm/damage done to him or his possessions."

There was damage done to his possessions. Major? Perhaps not but may I suggest you refer back to my first point.

" i dont think this guy really has all that much to complain about."
I don`t think he comes off as someone who is bitching and moaning here. He probably is worried (and rightfully so) that the police department/city is going to screw him on the cost of repairing the damage done to his car. I would have to think t

Sue the poo out of that police department. Then donate the money to the homeless shelter...

This is what you call "acceptable collateral damage" in the drug war.

He`s lucky. When the stop you, search you and find nothing, Usually they plant something on you so they don`t` get into trouble. He was lucky to find honest cops who let him go. There aren`t` that many of them.

What kind of record does the homeless guy have. Several arrest for possession and intent to sell.

Did the homeless guy confirm that he got 75 cents. Something the exact has to be true when both say the same thing.
