You can also reverse the mouse to left handed mode. That confuses more people when their `click finger` doesn`t work right.

I did something like this to a friend. A bit more simplified, but it certainly fooled him.

I just took the screenshot and made it his desktop, hid all the icons in a directory within a directory, and let everything unravel.

His roommate told him that there was a power outage, and to this day, he still believes that the power outage caused the "glitch".

I also made the autocorrect feature in his Word to correct his name into something like "Fartman". And the word "the" to "f*ck".

    1) Does it need to be "paint" that I reverse it in.
    2) Anyone who does not notice the cursor is a damn fool.

So just pressing ALT+SHIFT will fudge up your keyboard in Windows?

Keyboard reversal thing didn`t work for me. Screen rotation did.

Simpler one, assuming they use desktop icons as shortcuts:

Take a screenshot and save it.

Move the shortcuts into a folder (so they can be easily restored to the desktop afterwards).

Set the background image to be the screenshot you took earlier.

Now the screen looks identical to their usual desktop (including the cursor), but clicking on the icons does nothing at all because they`re just part of the background and not shortcuts.

But why would you do this sort of thing anyway? It`s a petty revenge at best, not worth stooping to.

to drips, it changes the layout to another countrys normal setting, but this is on most windows os and actually really useful when you type in different languages

Ive done this long, long, LONG ago to one of my (ex) friends. And Angilion, I did a variation of your idea. You can simply right-click the background, go to View, and select to hide all desktop icons. No fiddling with the icons or an extra folder

we did something similar to a boss I had (we all liked him, it was just a fun, don`t go on vacation prank). I took a screenshot of his desktop, turned it upside down, made it his wallpaper and put all his real folders and app aliases in a folder pushed just off screen. we then put everything we could in his cubicle upside down. he thought it was funny.
