Not sure how that applies to us in the US. I mean, we have the lowest tax rates in decades and some of the lowest in the developed world, yet conservatives want to continue to lower them and give more and more corporate tax breaks. If you think the government entirely unnecessary, that`s fine, but you`d quickly bemoan its absence if it weren`t here. Let`s not pretend our taxes are high. At all. They`re exceptionally low. Could our government spend better? I think so. But it still needs money and it`s not taking all that much currently.

And before the State it was the Priesthood and before him it was the King and before him it was the Person with the biggest stick.

What`s he complaining about, his stick too small?

Yah, I hate it when the government squanders my tax money on roads and trains and police officers and firemen.

f*** man, they need to spend that tax money on something USEFUL and things that I can believe in! Like farm subsidies.

@SmagBoy1- If`n yas make $30 thou or less, taxes are not lower. If ya makes better than 200 grand, you`re in like flint.
Irregardless, Government pisses the money away horribly.

Geoffrey Bloom is an arrogant mysoginist who is so far removed from normal people he couldnt get elected as a real MP so chose to get himself elected as an MEP who then decries Europe whilst sucking at that particular teat.
He has claimed that “any small businessman or woman who employs a woman of child-bearing age needs their head examined”.
He also once argued that the majority of prostitutes were not exploited. “In short, most girls do it because they want to,” he wrote in an article for the Brussels-based political magazine The Sprout in 2006.

Interesting that it`s mostly North Americans who are going for this man. I`m not pro-E.U, but this guy is indeed a mysogenist with racist leanings. People would do well to run to a similar banner flown by a different person.

"Geoffrey Bloom is an arrogant mysoginist"
I don`t know him, but if he`s they guy in the video he might be everything you said. But there is no reason why an arrogant misogynist can`t be correct. And he is, at least this time. You could play that video before any first world country and it`s the same. Only a revolution will take back any honest representation in government.

This guy is dead on. Unfortunately, he could never get elected in the US.

Not sure how that applies to us in the US. I mean, we have the lowest tax rates in decades...

Here`s a little perspective on this post. This fellow is Godfrey Bloom and he is the laughing stock of the entire UK, he`s even now been kicked out of his own party of racist fruitcakes. He referred to african nations as "Bongo Bongo land", constantly makes painfully old man sexist comments and beat a reporter with a magazine for pointing out it didnt have anyone black in it. Google him, he`s a clow.

@SmagBoy1 My personal income has nothing to do with the fact that you were simply wrong about income tax rates.

Taking more money away from people who have proven that they know what to do with it and giving it to people who have proven that they don`t has never produced a good result.

Smaggy, those are EFFECTIVE rates after deductions. Rich people arranged their affairs to minimize their tax liability. It should be noted that these arrangements were NEVER conducive to creating jobs or improving the GDP, which explains why unemployment was so high under Carter when the top marginal rate was 70% and why it dropped so much when Reagan reduced it to 28%.

The TOP MARGINAL RATES , i.e., the rate you pay on the last dollar earned, were always MUCH higher than the rates you posted, and THOSE are the rates that f*** up the economy and kill jobs.
