Kids are particularly susceptible to the ingestion of radioiodine. The Iodine 131 and 129, that was liberated from the freshly-fissioning rods early on, have been inhaled or ingested by these kids (or anyone) As far as the body is concerned, it`s regular Iodine, not an isotope, thereof. Goes straight to their thyroid glands, and starts bombarding it and the surrounding tissue with radiation. Same as Plutonium and Strontium have an affinity for calcium, and therefore, if ingested, tend to accumulate in the bones and teeth. Caesium 137, favours muscle tissue, so an extra large dose, can actually screw up your heart, which is one of the biggest muscles in a human. Sadly, they are ignoring the `elephant in the room`, and will reap the whirlwind for their too-laidback attitude. It`s said that the molten core of at least one reactor, has now reached groundwater. This is actually `The China Syndrome`.

WTF is wrong with Japan? Before you accuse me of being a Japanese hater, I think I care about them more than they do themselves.
