He deserves much more. At least that amount from the cops. Then the hospital/doctors should pay more. Ultimately, doctors have the final say even if a cop wants something done the doctor decides if it`s ethical or not.

The doctors should loose their licence. Don`t get me started on the police.

I`d have insisted that, in addition to the money, the cops and the doctors all have broomsticks shoved up their asses while they stood before the court and sang "We`re Sorry, So Very Sorry." Bastards.

1 million per probe sounds about right to me.

I`ll be anxiously waiting the stories about the criminal prosecutions against the cops and the doctors. How about felony aggravated battery, forcible rape, and armed criminal action for starters?

The money should be taken from the police officers involved; it`s sad that the taxpayers there are on the hook for the misdeeds of their police.

At the very least, the city and county should sue the officers involved for the losses.

Every person directly involved in any of the bad decisions in this case needs to be sacked and lose any benefits. I also think some prison time is in order too. This kind of thing goes way beyond, "Oops we made a mistake." Police, DA`s and doctors have to deserve the special kind of trust that society has no real choice but to bestow upon them.

$1.6 million less 33% paid to his attorney.

i think after all he was subjected to, he should have received 10x that settlement. at least.

"...prosecutions against the cops and the doctors."
It`s rare to for officials to lose in cases where a settlement was pressed even in cases where a victim dies.

Juries tend to side with officials.

Just imagine if this were a private police force. Only the company they work for would lose money and not the taxpayer and they`d be facing criminal post-haste they also wouldn`t be enforcing BS laws like the War on Drugs. Of course the first and second outcomes are mutually of the third, still hope springs eternal. Anyway those cops should be booted from the police and never allowed to serve again.

The state: finding more ways to rape you in the ass every day!

I`m not greedy - I`d be okay qith $1.6M if I were him ... but I don`t think that`s enough for them to pay. This was a morbid abuse of power.

Make it $10M and if the victim doesn`t deserve every penny of it, than force them to pay the rest to the "Not-for-Profit Society for the Protection of Anuses" or something.

Why not just probe the perpetrators and ask how they like it and save the taxpayers who had nothing to do with it?
