I don`t really see how the New York Satanic Temple has any standing here, to be honest. Anybody can see that an Oklahoma based organization putting up a monument is different than an out of state organization.

I mean, seriously, if the people from Oklahoma don`t mind it, why should the people in New York or California.
I`d just have to ask when you guys are planning to give your lands back to the natives? Same thing right there
When you give NI back to Ireland or me some casinos! Not really the same though you see ones a country that admits that was bad the others a family that`s still put on a throne from it.
Anyway, a royal must have f*cked your mum or something, because you have SUCH a bug up your butt about them.
Oh my you get quite butthurt when someone shows you should take a beter look at your country before criticizing a rock with religious words on it huh?

None of those things have any effect on the decision making of the country. She has about as much involvement in the actual running of the government as the gilt on the fixtures.

"You also treat her better than any citizen and give her and the family everything they want."

No we don`t. They give themselves everything they want. They`re wealthy in their own right.

If you want to start with the whole "they got their wealth from taking it in the name of god"...well, I`d just have to ask when you guys are planning to give your lands back to the natives? Same thing right there.

Anyway, a royal must have f*cked your mum or something, because you have SUCH a bug up your butt about them.

•Opening and dissolving parliament

•Appointing the prime minister

•Consenting to all bills passed by parliament (without this consent they can’t become law)

•Appointing bishops and members of the House of Lords

Here`s a real good one:
Immune from civil or criminal proceedings and cannot be sued in courts of law.

Just few of that no power there......

They put here in all sorts of parliament meetings don`t they. You also treat her better than any citizen and give her and the family everything they want. You guys can go on about a monument but refuse to see what`s right in front of you so grasp at straws.

But OK, I`ll check:

Is there anyone here who thinks that the queen of the UK is a religious monument and/or that the UK is an actual theocracy, i.e. ruled by a religion?

I didn`t bother because I think there isn`t anyone here as determinedly ignorant as you are. Your ravings are therefore irrelevant as well as untrue, so there`s no need to waste the time needed to repeatedly explain all the many ways in which they are wrong, in detail.

They probably are refering to the Baphomet Pentagram, but that is not what the article stated. With iconography, more information is necessary than less.

Anyways, going back on target

The first is acceptable, the second is not.

The Ten Commandments in no way teach you about Christianity or Judaism. An interactive display which teaches children about Satanism in every way teaches you about Satanism. It would be more akin to having a Minister stand on the steps every day and offer free sermons.

Official title:
"Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith".

Ya gee sounds like you elected her and not the grace of god...oh look it`s in the title!

How do you know that? You`re making an assumption of their motives.

The point behind Jefferson separation between church and state is necessary to end religious squabbles including which 10 or 11 commandments should be displayed on state grounds. Its ridiculous since the govt. of that area is accepting one ideology over another when the two can and do co-exist without associations between both adherents of either faith.
There should be no commandments statue or plaque at all, solves these disputes rather quickly when the govt. stays out of it otherwise its an issue.

Also, Lucifer is a bad latin translation for son of dawn as translated Isaiah. Isiah describes that even the mightiest despot will die and will not be blessed when the dead rise to rejoin god but instead rot in grave. It does not describe a supernatural Devil but a despot king.

Which ones? Like any religion, there are variations.

Remember, Lucifer is a proto-Prometheus, he came to Earth behind the back of God to bring mankind knowledge of good and evil.

Or to tempt mankind into eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, however you choose to see it.

Like Prometheus, he brings Knowledge (fire) to mankind and is punished for it. On one hand, he`s thrown into the Lake of Fire, on the other he`s bound to a rock and has eagles eating his liver.

To some, Lucifer could be considered a heroic figure, fighting against an unjust god who wishes to keep his people subservient and in the dark.

The Astarans, the Lucis Trust, most theosophic faiths actually all have a figure that they refer to as "The Light Bringer" who brought them the first bit of wisdom.

But, I am just a silly Christian. What could I possibly know about other religions?

Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burned, tortured, fined and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this coercion? To make one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites; to support roguery and error all over the earth... Our sister states of Pennsylvania and New York, however, have long subsisted without any establishment at all. The experiment was new and doubtful when they made it. It has answered beyond conception. They flourish infinitely. Religion is well supported; of various kinds, indeed, but all good enough; all sufficient to preserve peace and order: or if a sect arises, whose tenets would subvert morals, good sense has fair play, and reasons and laughs it out of doors, without suffering the state to be troubled with it. They do not hang more malefactors than we do. They are not more disturbed with religious dissensions.

On the contrary, their harmony is unparalleled, and can be ascribed to nothing but their unbounded tolerance, because there is no other circumstance in which they differ from every nation on earth. They have made the happy discovery, that the way to silence religious disputes, is to take no notice of them. Let us too give this experiment fair play, and get rid, while we may, of those tyrannical laws.

No, this is actual Satanists. Wait till they rename DC "Soddom" and make buggery mandatory.

Why should we? Christians evidently don`t play by the same rules!

There`s also a problem of space.

If your first amendment is upheld, then any and every religion could insist on having a display of osme kind there, equally visible in order to avoid any one being given priority over any other.

There are hundreds of religions.

The only way to allow religious displays there and uphold your first amendment would be to have different religions on different days but somehow giving equal exposure to all of them.

They`re probably referring to the Baphomet Pentagram, which is their official symbol.

Eh, the only issue that I see with the story is that it is a New York organization wanting to put a monument in Oklahoma. Beyond that, there`s no reason not to let a statue stand.

The article says the ten commandments carries an "overtly Christian message" but that is an over simplification of the commandments. It also declares the pentagram to be a satanic symbol so their iconography lore is severely lacking.

The Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth
by Anton Szandor LaVey - 1967

1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
3. When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
5. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.

Continued

6. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.
7. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
8. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
9. Do not harm little children.
10. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

I don`t think EVERY Tom, Dick and Harry should be putting up monuments though, there`d be "Taco Bell" statues bumping against the "McDonalds Memorials" ;-) you know?

I think they`re making an extremely important point in a very effective (i.e. media-attracting) way.

Do you want to live in a theocracy or not?

Do you think your country`s constitutional attempt to seperate church and state is a good idea or not?

They are important questions.

Maybe put up a plaque that has all the things Jesus said about taking care of the poor and disadvantaged and how one can`t serve two masters (God and money). Even an atheist like me could get behind that little set of reminders for government officials.
