Obama did not create this, it has been in the works for a very long time.

It is a shame that way too many people are blind or so stubborn to look at Obama objectively.

@SmagBoy1: And have families saved ON AVERAGE $2,600? No they have not!

State by state it varies, but overall it has gone UP across the board! Since the 2010 signing. Some because of regular increases, but MOSTLY because of the ACA.

And 5 million+ are without policies in 2 weeks BECAUSE of the ACA and no other reason.

"40%" isn`t literal, dude, it`s approximate. Just like "Save $2,600" is, but going UP %40 is not covered under "saving $2,600" is it? Honestly.

@lauriloo: So the Democrats AND the Repubs voted it down together, but ONLY the Repubs are to blame? Is that what you`re saying?

And the link is the order to "review" the closure. All Obama had to do was order it closed: Job Done! Of course it would be CHAOS after that! LOLZ! Inmates turned loose in Cuba? LMAO! But it`s HIS promise! Not mine. HE can clean up the mess...

"The repubs never HAD TO because Obama didn`t even TRY to do it!"

Executive Order to close Guantanamo issued in Jan 2009

On 20 May 2009, the United States Senate passed an amendment to the Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2009 (H.R. 2346) by a 90–6 vote to block funds needed for the transfer or release of prisoners held at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. They didn`t want detainees on American soil in "people`s back yards" even though many terrorists are already in American prisons.

So yes, Democratic senators also had a hand in blocking the closing of Guantanamo but Obama can`t be blamed for it still being open. Actually, the latest budget bill that just passed has a piece that takes steps to clear a bunch of the detainees out.

5Cats, first of all, the 40% increase numbers you`re citing are from a Forbes article published even before the one I linked to. That`s why I chose the one I did. Second of all, the ACA has been in effect for nearly two years.

Here`s something a "little bit" more recent for everyone:
Ezikeil Emanuel (Obama`s ACA Spokesperson and huge ACA supporter) telling us that "Obama never said it would be cheaper"
Clicky Here it should start at 0:56.

Notice how he says "If you want to keep your doctor you can, but you have to pay more."

The WHOLE POINT of ObamaCare was to NOT make it more expensive, correct?
So "uninsured" people could get AFFORDABLE coverage.
But before? If you paid more? You could get coverage! It wasn`t affordable, but you could get it.
Now? Just to maintain the same coverage you once had? The White House tells you: PAY MORE!

Facts > speculation before it even happens

Hey! I found an article from November 1941 that PROVES Pearl Harbour will NEVER be attacked!

And this one from July 1990 that PROVES Iraq will NEVER invade Kuwait!

Need I go on?

Your "debunking" of an event which wasn`t even REMOTELY understood in September is... wrong.

I said August below, "el oops".

@SmagBoy1: ZOMG!!! You linked an article from AUGUST!!! AUGUST!!!! Before the ACA was EVEN IN PLACE!!!!

Holy Ship! You really ARE that stupid after all.

Sorry Pal, but... Holy Cow!
An article from August to DISPROVE an event that happened after October...

Reagan sucked.
I was there I know. We had the worst recession since the Great Depression. In the middle of an epidemic not once did POTUS Reagan ever mention the word "AIDS". He blocked funding, hung out with fundamentalist Christians like Jerry Fallwell and when Reagan turned senile, his wife took over. I`m okay with that {Mrs. Roosevelt did it}, but Nancy made the decisions based on what psychics told her to do. She had astrologists doing readings in the Oval Office. Trickle down Economics never "trickled down to me".

Except for the Big Hair, Synthetic Clothing and Synthesized Music, the Reagan Era sucked.

5Cats, it`s a lie, flat out, that most policies have gone up. And that Forbes article about 40% increase on AVERAGE? Totally debunked as crap. But, hey, I know you`ll say *this* article is wrong. I guess we`ll just have to wait and see.

Liberal Math Lesson:
(-5,000) + (+300) = ?

Answer: It equals +300! Because of the hidden benefits you cannot see!

Nevermind that next year (unless it gets delayed AGAIN) the Employer`s Mandate comes and removes 50-70 MILLION MORE policies (people)! That`s the White House numbers BTW, the ACA Opponents say it will be higher.

So stay on your parents` policy longer... BUT take the parent`s policy away from them!
Genius!

Just put everyone on the Medicare & Medicaide! It`s FREE after all!

And you`ve ignored the fact: ALL policies, on average, have gone up 40%. Sure a few have gone down, but MORE have gone up! And often with inferior coverage. It`s not "propaganda" it`s a fact.
Average does not mean "maximum" ok? For every 20% savings? There`s someone facing 60% increase!

As for the hidden unemployment, it`s not like that`s a new concept. You say it yourself. It`s no different than under Bush, as you say. But, note that the numbers continue to decrease. And, dang, with all those long term unemployed, I sure hope they can get insurance. Oh, unless they live in a state where the dumbass state government refused to expand Medicaid, most will be able to under the ACA. How about that! ;-)

5Cats, I love you man. And by all means, keep on talking about how terrible Obamacare is and how it`s not helping anyone, how costs are up overall and how it`s a terrible thing. I`m okay with folks saying it because no one ever said it`s a sprint. Give it a year or two in operation, actual operation, and we`ll see. Until then, I`m going to note the, literally, hundreds of thousands of young adults (over age 18, and up to age 25) who are still on their parents` insurance who couldn`t have been previously. I`m going to cite the hundreds of thousands who`ll benefit even under expanded Medicaid. And, just like Medicare was pilloried years ago and now embraced, so, too, will the ACA be.
Unemployment is lower than when Obama took office
@SmagBoy1: but the total number of people IN THE workforce is lower, despite the population being larger now. It`s called "hidden unemployment" and used to "be a thing" when complaining about Bush:

"Unemployment is 5.5%... BUT there`s hidden UE which makes it a terrible 8%!"
Back when 8% was "terrible" = LOLZ!
The "hidden UE" is estimated at 16% these days. That`s regular and hidden together, of course.
The ACA *has* worked for many people,
Now you`re "straight-up delusional" dude.
5 Million lost insurance. 300K `gained` it. That is NOT working!
the Republicans wouldn`t block it
@lauriloo: The repubs never HAD TO because Obama didn`t even TRY to do it! Sheesh! He lied, get it?

The AVERAGE cost of ALL new policies is UP 40% across the board. NOT DOWN.

Regan? Prescient about anything? Since when? Like when he warned against Medicare in 1961 with the prediction that (actual words), "Someday you and I may spend our sunset years telling our children and our children`s children of the days when men were free."

That Regan?! My Goddess, if you blindfolded the old man and pointed him towards the ocean he`d still miss it by a country mile.

""I will close Guantanamo Bay in the first year of my presidency."

That was assuming the Republicans wouldn`t block it from happening by refusing to allow the people to be tried and put in prison on American soil. He didn`t know what he was up against at that time.

"A family of 4 will save $2,600 per year, on average."

Show your data that shows this isn`t true. Here`s a short article explaining how the Kaiser Family Foundation came to that number : LINK

5Cats, the financial markets are better than they`s been in over five years. The Real Estate market has recovered or is recovering in almost every major area. Manufacturing and production indexes are through the roof. Record profits for corporations over two years running. Unemployment is lower than when Obama took office, OBL is dead. Civil rights for homosexuals have increased dramatically, not just with DOMA, but with his Presidential Orders regarding medical access, advocation, etc. The ACA *has* worked for many people, including young adults younger than 25, etc.

Basically, the only legitimate thing you can ding him on is that the debt has increased--just like it has for every single president in the history of the country, starting with Washington. So, while I`m not saying he`s the best president ever, he`s by no means even CLOSE to the worst, not even in the last 40 years is he the worst!

@Drawman if people tempt the U.S. with financial ruin don`t forget about the 6,000 nukes warheads we still have. Those aren`t easily forgotten. =) Sadly we still rule by some fear.

Mr President, I didn`t know you posted on here.

It`s amazing the DoJ is at it`s highest point ever, economic recovery is happening, and remember when it was spiraling how it was all Obama`s fault? Well by that logic it must be Obama`s great leadership that`s causing this! (I know he doesn`t really affect the markets I`m simply pointing out the hyperbole used)

On a side note, A no vote for Obama was a vote for Mitt (Corporations are people) Romney. how anyone here would have supported him is beyond me. Unless you are wealthy of course.

@RobSwindol: That`s like saying:

I lost $1,000 gambling last month, but this month I only lost $900! I`m moving in a POSITIVE DIRECTION!

The "recession" is not over, it`s dragging along despite the MSM`s cheerleading.
The "job growth" numbers are barely above required minimums, and millions short of 2008 numbers.

Meanwhile? Casualties in Afghanistan are 4X as high as when Bush was in office. MSM cheerleaders are strangely quiet...

The real problem: isn`t "left or right wing politics" (JUST like Reagan said!) it`s the 5th Estate (news) abandoning any neutrality and pushing ONE agenda over all facts & reason.

Amazing how liberals KNOW they`re wrong, but still do it anyhow, because they hope they won`t get caught!
In Obama`s case? He didn`t get caught until it was too late for the rest of America.

"If you like you policy, you can keep your policy."
"A family of 4 will save $2,600 per year, on average."
"I will close Guantanamo Bay in the first year of my presidency."

We tried to warn you! But y`all voted for him anyhow. I HOPE the next president can CHANGE the direction America is going.
(See what I did there?)

Actually, the economy IS moving in a positive direction. Just very slowly.

For people who think the economy has gotten worse since Obama took office, I ask you this. If the economy is getting worse, then why is it that we haven`t been in an economic recession since we pulled out of the one we entered into in 2008?
