Here`s the story Joe isn`t telling you. He`s part of the Polaris network. Polaris has in their contract with their partners, that they will handle all copyright claims if and when they appear. The video holder isn`t supposed to do that. Shortly after Joe flew off the handle with this video, Youtube flat refused to remove half the copyright strikes against him, because they stated that his actions, in particular some of what he has said both in this video and others, is in breach of the non disclosure contract which were part of the copyright contract he has with Polaris. So, in the end Polaris pretty much had to cut Joe loose, taking him from a managed partner they fight for, and putting him to just a simple affiliate. He`s pretty much admitted in later videos that he made a mistake, and is now suffering dearly for it.

all I saw was a guy whining with nothing of value to threaten youtube with other than "I`ll be so mad!" oh no, guy. I mean, it`s his fault he quit his job. Who is that short sighted to believe that making videos off youtube would be a stable career? And if he`s good at what he does, he wont need youtube. There`s countless other sites he can use.

@Mad Gremlyn

Um... how did you get politics from this?

This has nothing to do with Republican or Democrat, this is a business making stupid policies that are hurting entrepreneurs.

Just a reminder: Republicans love it and Democrats don`t care. We are no longer ruled by the "lesser of two evils," we are ruled by the evil of two evils. Stop voting for (D) or (R)! Why is that so difficult for you ideological... why is this guy spitting?

@Pilot, I`m with you. I won`t log onto google + just to say "thanks for posting".

Yeah youtube seems like its circling the drain.. i don`t comment there because it requires a g+ account, which i refuse. Fortunately videos can still be uploaded, but the day they require g+ for that too, it`s `see-ya` to youtube!

So, the guy is unhappy how a FREE service regulates it`s usage. I have sympathy for him; However, I`m reminded what my dear, drunk mother used to say: "Sympathy is between sh*t and syphilis in the dictionary". How this was germane to any topic always escaped me, but the sentiment was clear.

"
"The problem isn`t with copyright law. The law allows for `fair use` of short clips.

In this instance, the law isn`t being applied correctly"

True, but YouTube or any other service can have POLICY that is more restrictive.

Isn`t it true that youtube is google owned? And aren`t google subsidized by the government? And doesn`t the government want to control every aspect of our lives?

"Copyright is getting way way way out of hand."

No kidding! That`s why parents can`t videotape their kid`s recitals.

Happy Birthday to You is copyrighted!

How do cover bands get away with posting vids of their performances? Lack of complaints?

The examples go on and on...

While I don`t get the video game obsession and I always find people hilarious who get so involved- I agree 100% with this guy.

Copyright is getting way way way out of hand.

Like I said on a previous post, Perhaps it is time for `New-Tube`. `New Tube` will be like the old one when it started.
Once people make the mass-jump, YouTube will see the error of their ways and start sacking people. Then it will become less profitable and google will close it down. Then it will look to buy `New Tube` and the process will repeat.

He`s right. Clips are allowed under Fair Use. Shutting guys like him down is ridiculous - -hell, he makes them money by promoting the good stuff.

You Tube appears to be going the way of MySpace. Once it was THEE place to have a profile page, but they made stupid restrictive choices so people turned to that newcomer `The Face Book`. Well, YouTube has been making some bad changes lately and there are alternate companies waiting to take your place.

Lots of gaming companies have come out against this and are pushing back against Google/YouTube as these videos bring them a lot of business. I have a feeling this will be solved in short order.

Yeah, this seems to be a poorly conceived automated DCMA mechanism.
One can`t and shouldn`t test media with automation because legitimate journalists are going to start sounding like this guy.
Well, maybe not exactly like this guy but, you get the point...
